Question: Can I use Syr Cadian, Knight Owl as my commander?

Well let's take a look at his abilities.

First off we have Knightlifelink. A unique Un-mechanic that means any damage done by knights we control gains us that much life. Gatherer states this doesn't stack with Lifelink. This is a neat anthem effect that comes on a 5cmc body, susceptible to removal.

:Syr Cadian, Knight Owl gains vigilance until end of turn. Activate only from sunrise to sunset.

I work too much IRL to ever be able to activate this ability.

We be flying all night baby!

Are these abilities busted? Would they make the game unfair? Can I run the bird if he's the only silver-bordered card in the deck?

OWL ON THE PROWL ♧

So we're leaning heavy into Knight tribal with a sprinkling of lifegain jank.

We only have 3 non-knight creatures in the deck, Athreos, God of Passage, Vizkopa Guildmage and Wall of Blood.

We're running some basic tribal staples:

General go wide strat with a bit of janky interaction!

Most of our Knights are buddies, boosting eachother in various ways.

If we had to pick a round table crew, it'd be these friends;

• Kinsbaile Cavalier
• Knight Exemplar
• Pentarch Paladin
• Fiendslayer Paladin
• Mirror Entity

If we can Entomb Haakon, Stromgald Scourge that'd be cool.

We have to try and ULT Sorin, Grim Nemesis because oh my god.

We are happy when our board is full of knights and we have some spot removal in hand.

COMBOS + ENDGAME ♤

We've got a few silly combos in the deck:
