”We are many, yet one. We are separate in body, yet speak with a single voice. Join us in our chorus.” - Chorus of the Conclave

Welcome to the 1st edition of my budget commander series, discountEDH! I will be posting commander budget decklists on Tuesday every week. This week the spotlight shines on Chorus of the Conclave and all of her budget beauty.

Chorus costs and comes with a 3⁄8 forestwalking body. Obviously, forestwalk and 8 toughness is cool and all, but we don’t care about any of that. What this deck really focuses on is using her ability to pay extra mana to turn our little creatures into monstrous freaks of nature.
The strategy of the deck is very straight forward. First and foremost, this deck is very mana intensive, so we need to ramp early and ramp often. Second, we need to establish a board presence outside of mana using our other creatures and tools. At this point in the game our creatures are probably huge, but there’s normally chump blockers or people threatening lethal on the swingback, so now’s the time to spit our lords and overpower the enemy.
The deck plays a lot of ramp between creatures, spells, and mana rocks. Here are the decks ramp stars: Gyre Sage - Can either cast this card with extra counters or can evolve it to get more counters!

Keeper of Progenitus - I’m honestly surprised this card is so cheap.

Rishkar, Peema Renegade - Turns all of our creatures into mana dorks.

Viridian Joiner - Is a late game animal!

Dictate of Karametra - Flashing this in before your turn can cause explosive turns.

The best part of Chorus of the Conclave is her ability to turn dead draw creatures into giant beat sticks. Here are the decks best creatures and tools:

Acidic Slime - This card is a staple in any green deck!

Armorcraft Judge - Drawing cards in a creature deck is always important.

Etched Oracle - Will probably get to Ancestral Recall quite often.

Shinewend - Can destroy enchantments at will!

Sporeback Troll - Can regenerate all of our creatures!

Triskelion - Green/White doesn’t entirely have the best removal, so this card does the trick.

Ulvenwald Tracker - When we have giant beatsticks why shouldn’t we use them?

Cathars' Crusade - Basically just puts counters on creatures who missed out on the Chorus’s Conclave.

There happen to be a lot creatures who reward us for controlling creatures with +1/+1 counters. Here are the decks favorite lords:

Abzan Battle Priest - Lifelink in a creature deck is huge.

Abzan Falconer - Falconer allows our giant beatsticks to fly above our opponents.

Crowned Ceratok/Tuskguard Captain - Trampling over with our big creatures is key.

Battlefront Krushok - Combined with trample can make our creatures be able to hit for a lot of damage.

Champion of Lambholt - Probably one of the best lords in the deck as even if we don’t have the mana to dump into it right away, she can still grow from other creatures ETBing.

Elite Scaleguard - Who cares about blockers if all of their creatures are tapped anyway?

Wild Beastmaster - You don’t even need to bother boosting your other creatures when you can just boost beastmaster.

The best part about playing so much ramp is that your land count doesn’t need to be as high. Here is the decks special lands:

Llanowar Reborn - Can add an additional counter to our creatures early.

Mosswort Bridge - How often are we not gonna have ten power in play?
