I feel this helps play to win instead of not losing. RIP or a Leyline of the Void really screw this deck, but I feel having the consistency given by the extra land will help me out more as my meta is pretty casual and doesn't pack all that much grave hate.

-Archfiend of Ifnir +Swamp

Not enough discard synergy. Swamps synergize with every nonland and coffers.

-Razaketh, The Foulblooded +Mind Slash An arbitrary amount of Thoughtseize at sorcery speed is nice, and I wanted an enchantment sac outlet as other players in my meta generally leave my enchantments alone unless they have repeatable hate for them. Razaketh is great to have on Necrotic ooze, but is a dead card if it needs to be hardcast.

-Falkenrath Noble +Bubbling Muck

Big mana helps everything. It's a worse dark ritual in the early game, but if drawn late can leave you up four or more mana. I feel I have enough lifegain in the deck that suicide won't be likely without that piece of redundancy for the blood artist effect. However, it's one of the only flying blockers, which should be considered now that I removed two demons.

-Butcher of Malakir + Slum Reaper

A low CMC edict can put in a lot more work earlier than a 7 CMC grave pact that dies to removal.
