Small New Year's Update —Jan. 5, 2017

So, the big thing here is that Tolaria West is out. While it's cool to be able to easily Transmute for things like Mana Crypt, Pact of Negation, Tormod's Crypt or Utility Lands, it's still 3 Mana, two of which are blue, for a sorcery-speed tutor. Really not where we wanna be at. In line with this change, I've removed Everflowing Chalice and Tormod's Crypt because they were only really in there so I could find them with Tolaria West. Grafdigger's Cage is a much better graveyard hate target for Trinket Mage.

Coalition Relic and Extraplanar Lens are cards I really like, but they ultimately had to leave because they were just not pulling their weight. The Intuition pile with Snapcaster, High Tide, Extraplanar Lens was cute, but often times just not worth it.

Regarding the new inclusions, I've been campaigning for Delay over something like Negate in competitive EDH for quite a while, even moreso with the emergence of the new Selvala creature combo deck and lots of people using key creatures like Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder or Leovold, Emissary of Trest.

Overburden is another tool to stop all sorts of creature-based decks, both the competitive Combo decks and most casual decks. Another nice thing about it is that we can find it with Muddle the Mixture.

From testing other decks, Impulse has proven to be a very good card draw spell that's probably worth being included here.

Buried Ruin is a land I've been considering ever since I decided to include Memory Jar . Since one of my land slots opened up from not having Tolaria West anymore, I decided that it's finally worth it to include this land.

Aether Revolt brought some new spice to the Teferi game in the name of Whir of Invention. An artifact Chord is 100% what this deck both wanted and needed. It being Instant speed makes it even better because we can now do Merchant Scroll -> Whir of Invention -> Chain Veil.
