Initial testing —Feb. 21, 2020

Testing is focusing on methods of protecting the wheel combos, since those are the most vulnerable win conditions in the deck. Silence is always the quintessential answer, but I would like a higher density of spells that offer protection. Alms Collector and Narset, Parter of Veils provide different ways of preventing your opponents from drawing into interaction off of the wheels, and which is the correct answer I think will depend on the deck's ability to protect Narset. I feel like she's the stronger choice, and it is likely Kykar's spirit production will prove enough to leave up blockers.

The other card in consideration is Teferi, Time Raveler, as it has excellent utility outside of combo protection. Being able to remove a threat, or allowing you to cast Underworld Breach simply for value and then return it to hand before it is sacrificed seems great.

I also feel like I'd like a little more card advantage. Verity Circle is being considered, as well as Insight which may be more reliable in our Fish Hulk meta.

I was doing something similar but didnt use brain freeze, normaly i make a huge storm count using 1/0 cost artifacts that draw and retract style spells but i love the deck and will probably use brain freeze plus lotus petal in mine too, keep the good work!

bernardofoxxx Thank you! I love the cheerios plan too. It definitely made me flirt with building Jhoira for a while.

Hi BanditBan! The combo section of the primer details which combos can be executed out of your opening hand, and how to execute them. Let me know if you have any questions!

Hey BanditBan. So the most important part of filling our yard is putting in enough cards to exile to Underworld Breach to keep casting the spells we want to cast. Unfortunately Thought Scour doesn't bin enough to cast even one card, so it doesn't do quite enough. Something like Tome Scour is closer, but still presents challenges that outweigh the usefulness of the card outside of combo turns. This is why our cantrips and card selection are still just focused on the best cards of that world, without caring about the graveyard. Hope this helps!

Magorian Ah, I see kind of the middle ground between ponder/preordain and a tome scour, where it isn't quite the best on non-combo turns, and also isn't quite the best on combo turns. An unfortunate middle ground.
