I started playing magic around Scars of Mirrodin block, with my buddy, who I’ll refer to as “Dude” who introduced me to the game.

In the 10+ years that we’ve been playing, Dude has not evolved as a deck builder. He still main decks cards like Plummet in his decks, even though he has plenty of Doom Blades and Murders in his collection.

Dude isn’t a bad player, he just doesn’t consider card advantage, consistency, or synergy when building a deck. He just puts cards together that he enjoys. It’s not an issue, but he often wonders why I usually beat him.

This is the first in a series of super casual and budget decks that I’m looking to build to introduce Dude to all of these concepts.

PLEASE HELP! Need ideas for this deck and others!
