It's 8-Rack with a twist! Do you hate when your opponent gets to play cards? Put a stop to that before they can even be cast! Then punish them for discarding all their cards!

Your main goal is to control your opponent by forcing them to discard as many cards as possible. Inquisition of Kozilek and Thoughtseize whisk away their early threats. Wrench Mind takes a big chunk out of opponents' hands while Raven's Crime and Liliana of the Veil keep them low with Retrace and her +1 mutual discard respectively. Nobody expects a Funeral Charm right after the draw step; shut down their turn right at the starting line! It's second mode, "Target creature gets +2/-1 until end of turn" can also be used to snipe dorks like Birds of Paradise, and Noble Hierarch, as well as weenies before they become a problem such as Thalia's Lieutenant, or Thalia, Guardian of Thraben herself. (Could you tell we have a 5c Humans player in our meta with those examples?)

Which brings us to removal. There isn't a lot mainboard; 2 Fatal Push, 2 Funeral Charm, 2 Dismember and 4 Liliana of the Veil. Before you say it, I know Lili and F-Charm barely count. This minimal spot removal is only here to tide us over until we hit one of our Ensnaring Bridges. As long as a Bridge is out the game essentially becomes a top-deck war. At this point, we should at most have 1 or 2 cards in hand by the start of combat on the opponent's turn to keep attacks minimal as the Racks do work.

The Rack. The namesake of the deck. And it brought friends! Shrieking Affliction acts as Racks 5-8, with Liliana's Caress capping the list off at 9-10. These beautiful little artifacts and enchantments chip away at the enemy's life total whilst we sit on the safe side of an Ensnaring Bridge or two.
