Check me out on CubeCobra!

As it stands, this is my cube. I keep it under deck builder instead of the cube option because it gives me the option to separate by archetype and also so I can deck cycle and receive feedback on it.

Each two color combination gets its own archetype based on what made the most sense given what cards I had. Within that archetype are ten cards of one color, ten of another, and five of both. There are also 30 colorless cards and 30 nonbasic lands, as well as 10 cards of each color that would be generally good in any deck.

Dark Confidant in place of Dark Tutelage

Tarmogoyf in place of Hooting Mandrills

Birds of Paradise In Place of Fervor

Cleric Class In Place of Evra, Halcyon Witness

Teferi, Hero of Dominaria in place of Grand Arbiter Augustin IV

Notorious Throng in place of Lu Xun, Scholar General

Tattermunge Maniac in place of Khenra Charioteer? I don't like the Charioteer and have too many 3 drops in gruul

Pain Lands or Check Lands in place of Gain Lands

  • I don't have enough nonbasics. I intend to shave two slots off of each color's Generic category to add one more full nonbasic cycle.

  • My curve is a little too high. I'm working on removing some of the higher cost cards and replacing them with lower cost ones.

  • Some gold cards don't signal well enough.

  • Games have to end. I'll be taking out a good chunk of the boardwipes eventually.

  • I am currently in the process of migrating W/G to lifelink tribal with less one-off lifegain strategies and more repeatable lifegain strategies, with more cards that reward you for steadily gaining life.

  • The cards marked as foil are the cards I intend to take out for better/cheaper/more archetype-specific cards. They are cards I am 100% willing to remove this cube as soon as I get the chance.

  • Once I get to the point where all of my archetypes are clearly defined with cards I'm completely comfortable with, I'm going to toy with the idea of expanding to 540 and loosening my restrictions on how many cards and what color identities go into an archetype. That will likely also be the point I add 3-color. This is all in the works; I'm just not quite ready to pull the trigger yet.

As a request, please keep recommendations as budget as possible. In addition, keep color identity in mind when suggesting a replacement for a card, as I will only trade a card out for something with the exact same color identity and that fits well into its archetype.
