Brudiclad is an interesting character. He appears to be some form of advanced myr: He creates myr tokens and looks like one, yet he doesn't have the myr type. Myr were one of my favorite creatures in Mirrodin (which is itself my favorite set!), so when I saw Brudiclad I knew I wanted to brew up a deck around him. I've had pieces of a deck lying around for a while now, and I finally decided to put it all together and see what it was like.

Set the Schematics Show

Ramp is a crucial part of any deck. Unfortunately for us, however, Izzet is not very strong in the ramp game. We're mostly going to be running mana rocks and produce treasure tokens, which Brudiclad can duplicate.

• Brass's Bounty: The ultimate treasure producer.
• Izzet Signet: Classic mana rock.
• Myriad Landscape: Not the best fetchland, but it's technically land ramp and non-green decks can't really be picky.
• Rapacious One: Can produce a lot of from Eldrazi spawn.
• Solemn Simulacrum: Non-green land ramp is welcome.
• Sol Ring: Classic mana rock.
• Storm the Vault  : Produces a lot of treasures, then flips into a Tolarian Academy.
• Strike it Rich: Very simple ramp spell.
• Urza, Lord High Artificer: Turns all of our artifacts into moxen. Works super well with treasure tokens.
• Wayfarer's Bauble: A staple in any non-green EDH deck.

Industrial Revolution Show

Blue has many ways to generate card advantage, and the last thing we want is to run out of gas when the engines start running. Here are the tools we can use to keep our hand nice and full:

• Chart a Course: Since we're a lot more aggressive than most izzet decks, chances are we'll end up drawing 2 for .
• Curse of Verbosity: Slap this on the archenemy and enjoy the card advantage.
• Fact or Fiction: Classic blue card advantage.
• Hard Evidence: Clue tokens might not be the most efficient way to draw, but we can propagate them quite a bit.
• Idol of Oblivion: In this deck, this card does some heavy lifting. Keeps our hand filled early-mid game, and sets us up for a lethal swing late game.
• Skullclamp: Clamp a bunch of small tokens for huge card draw.
• Treasure Map  : Scries and gives us treasure tokens early on, then lets us use treasure to generate card advantage. It's a pretty solid card.
• Urza, Lord High Artificer: While it's not card draw, casting spells at a flat rate off the top is nice.

Mass Production Show

We want to keep our token production at top notch levels. The more the merrier, and when we change the tokens into beefy creatures we can overrun our opponents.

• Brass's Bounty: A treasure for each land we control. This can mean an explosive next turn or a lot of attackers on the combat step.
• Hanweir Garrison  : Two tokens a turn, whether its melded or not.
• Mechanized Production: Copies an artifact each turn and can be a surprise win-con combined with Brudiclad's ability.
• Myr Battlesphere: A hefty amount of myr is nice.
• Rapacious One: Can give us a lot of mana from the spawn, or we can save them for Brudiclad.
• Rite of Replication: Why make just one copy when you can have five?
• Saheeli, Sublime Artificer: Drops a servo for each noncreature we cast.
• Sharding Sphinx: Many of the tokens we make, including brudiclad, are artifacts, so we can be making a huge amount of thopters.
• Specimen Collector: A crab, a squirrel, and a copy walk into a bar...
• Spell Swindle: It might be expensive, but it's like a mana drain that gives treasures instead of regular mana. Really abuseable with Brudiclad.
• Stolen Identity: Copies pretty much anything, then again whenever we hit with the encoded creature.
• Talrand, Sky Summoner: Another good source of fliers.
• Young Pyromancer: Drops early and gives us a token for each instant/sorcery we cast.

Yo dawg, I heard you like making copies. So I copy my copies to give you more copy! Making copy tokens is fun in this deck, because we can use a spell to create a copy of any given strong creature and then Brudiclad lets us duplicate said token.

• Cackling Counterpart: Copies a creature you control at instant speed. Flashback might be expensive, but in a pinch it can be used.
• Earthshaker Khenra: Eternalize allows this guy to make 4/4 token copies of itself.
• Faerie Artisans: Unfortunately we don't have as much control over the tokens this one makes, but it's free so that's good. Also makes playing ETB creatures a real risk for opponents.
• Feldon of the Third Path: Copies any creature from the yard.
• Glyph Keeper: Eternalizes itself and has built-in protection.
• Hate Mirage: Copies two of your opponents' best creatures.
• Heart-Piercer Manticore: Eternalizes itself, and gives us a sac outlet for other eternalize creatures. Really good ETB when we have our 10/10 Eldrazi tokens out.
• Mechanized Production: Throw this on an artifact token, then use Brudicald's ability to set up the win.
• Mimic Vat: Imprints creatures that die and makes copies. Really good to throw a Solemn Simulacrum on.
• Mirrorpool: A copy spell on a land.
• Mist-Syndicate Naga: Makes copies of itself. Which also copy themselves.
• Quasiduplicate: Pretty simple copy spell, plus you can flash it back.
• Rite of Replication: Copy anything five times.
• Saheeli's Artistry: Copy a creature and an artifact.
• Soul Foundry: Kind of like Mimic Vat, but it imprints a creature from your hand. And you have to pay full price for it. But hey, at least the token sticks around.
• Stolen Identity: One of the best copy spells. Hit a permanent, then put it on an evasive creature to keep getting more.
