Breya's Thopter Factory

Commander / EDH

Hobbez9186

A work in progress, I'm reasonably sure that there isn't enough land in here though there are a million mana rocks and ways to generate mana other than land so I'm not sure. The main idea here is getting wide and then blowing up your own army to kill everyone all at once. It's got energy, it's got tokens, it's got ETB triggers, it's got a lot of moving parts. I wanted to theme this around a Thopter Machine or Factory which is why it has all of the pieces from Fifth Dawn's "Stations" and Kaladesh's "Modules". If you have all of it then you can pretty much do things infinitely and slowly kill off the whole table.

Most of your damage is supposed to come from ETB triggers like Impact Tremors, Reckless Fireweaver, and Purphoros, God of the Forge as well as death triggers like Zulaport Cutthroat, Disciple of the Vault, Vela the Night-Clad, and Sludge Strider.

There are numerous ways to generate plenty of tokens with ETB triggers, but there also needed to be a number of ways to sacrifice your artifacts and those options are certainly plentiful. Thermal Navigator, Sarcatog, Atog, Megatog (this guy is a finisher), are all creatures that can do it for free and with some benefit like extra damage. Ashnod's Altar, Phyrexian Altar, and Krark-Clan Ironworks all let you sacrifice for mana. Carnage Altar gets you card draw, Grinding Station mills your opponent, Blasting Station deals damage, Arcum Dagsson lets you tutor for another non-creature artifact, Kuldotha Forgemaster also tutors but for any artifact, Metalwork Colosus cycles himself to hand from the graveyard by sacrificing tokens and will typically cast for free, and Time Sieve lets you take another turn. Of course Breya herself can knock off artifacts and do some pretty great things. She has an awful lot of utility. None of that sucks and there are more than enough ways to get all of that going.

With all the dying, Scrapheap can and should absolutely keep you alive.

Play testing has shown some gross possibilities.

I'll come back to this at some point to finish this, though with the exception of possibly having to overhaul the mana base I think it's pretty close. 29 land seems really light, but 8 total mana rocks that can produce mana on their own and then 3 more than can make mana using tokens is more like having 40. Unwinding Clock resets all of your artifacts during everyone's upkeep in addition to your own which gives you access to paying for ability triggers much more often. If you have Mycosynth Lattice as well then you are literally untapping your entire board every single upkeep which is awesome.

I'm open to suggestions as this is still a work in progress. I stopped building it when another person in my playgroup showed up with a finished Breya deck of their own. Theirs has some of the same cards, but went in a completely different direction. One day I hope to try them head to head :)
