Went 2-2 in this latest round. It's now time to retire Glimmer of Genius. For a card draw resource, there are better options:

  • Treasure Map  Flip: what an amazing little card this is! I've been playing this very incorrectly! Sure, using the treasure as mana is ok, but it's way better used to draw cards!

  • Search for Azcanta  Flip. Pretty much a staple for any control deck these days. Although, anything more than 2 is risky. Especially with Field of Ruin out there. Plus seeing one of your strong creatures fly by while using its non-land/creature Impulse mode is never a good feeling!

  • Precognition Field. Same CMC as Glimmer, but a permanent that does 3 separate things:

1 - always know the top of your library 2 - if top card is an instant or sorcery, you basically have a 7+ card hand size 3 - if top card is a dead draw, exile it away.

This needs further looking into!
