'Bobby'rigmos Enraged EDH

Commander / EDH

Mecha-Tech

The commander of this deck is, as stated in the title, Borborygmos Enraged. Still needs a little work, but damn if it isn't fun!

The goal of this deck is to make the table's life totals go to zero by using Borborygmos's ability of discarding a land card from hand over and over again. This is done using Snake Umbra/Keen Sense and Abundance. By choosing Land using Abundance's replacement effect, you're able to quickly strip out every land from your deck and merrily sling them at your opponents, leaving you with a graveyard full of land and at least one dead opponent.

Ideally, the deck would have you ramp in the first few turns, using Sol Ring and any number of 'put land into play' cards like Kodama's Reach, Explosive Vegetation, Skyshroud Claim, Oracle of Mul Daya, or Courser of Kruphix. You would then cast Abundance at some point, cast Bobby under protection from Cavern of Souls or Boseiju, Who Shelters All, enchant him with Keen Sense or Snake Umbra, and go to town. I've also included Creeping Renaissance and Praetor's Counsel to rebuy all lands from my graveyard to my hand for a minor cost. In testing, I've managed to get Bobby out turn 4 once without being disrupted, but realistically, turn 5 or 6 is when Bobby'll hit the board and start causing problems.

Protecting yourself and Protecting Bobby are pretty much essential in this deck. You are making lands quite a bit, but your early game creatures are generally not much to write home about. The focus is to get lands out of your deck. Don't be afraid to block because, once Bobby hits the board with 3 or so land in your hand, you can start causing serious problems for some people. I have included Glacial Chasm and Crop Rotation in this deck to hopefully mitigate this problem, as well as a Maze of Ith to prevent people being cute with one-shot commander damage. I've also included a pair of board wipes - Blasphemous Act and Chain Reaction. I've found this to be enough for my local casual metagame, but in the event of something more substantial is required, I've also included a buyback fog in the form of Constant Mists from Stronghold as an appropriate addition that allows you to fog every turn while you're setting up the kill.

Life from the Loam is the most powerful card in this deck, allowing you to get back lands that you've discarded - specifically the cycling lands from Onslaught - Tranquil Thicket and Forgotten Cave. It should read 'pay 1g, put 2 lightning bolts in your hand.' During your main phase, cycle one of these two cards and, using Life from the Loam's dredge replacement effect, put it into your hand and mill 3, then cast it to get 3 lands out of your graveyard to refill the tank, using a cycling land to get Loam back whenever you like.

The three instant silver bullets in this deck are Krosan Grip, Chaos Warp, and Beast Within - specifically added to the deck to take care of any enchantment or artifact that gives hexproof. We also have Hull Breach and Decimate, as well as Vandablast for those hard-to-reach problems, and due to the lack of artifacts and enchantments in my deck, Bane of Progress.

Don't hesitate to post if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions. I'm trying to make this thing better!

Thanks!
