Testing Scheming Symmetry —July 20, 2019

Scheming Symmetry is a powerful card that could potentially be a one sided effect in Circu.

How do you think about Narset's Reversal in here? Also: What is your opinion on Demonic Consultation + Jace, Wielder of Mysteries instead of the Doomsday-route?

Both are good.

Narset's should be in the deck.

New Jace can either entirely replace labman or come in as an extra win con if going heavier into the consultation line is your thing. Because Circu is a win con for scepter, does busted stuff with Bolas's Citadel, and reduces the size of dday piles you don't have to lean in as hard on labman consult and ad naus compared to other UB/x decks. But it's certainly an option.

Thanks for the fast Reply Bad_Dog, I didn't spot the interaction with citadel, but that definately looks very interesting! I planned on Building this deck on a Budget a few days ago and thought of a list very similar to this, just with some(honestly many) worse cards and without citadel and doomsday. I will include citadel now, but I'm unsure if the inclusion of Doomsday is necessary: You have two wincons in scepter+reversal and labman/Jace+consultation, so your opponents would have to exile one of your scepter pieces and your labman, since he can win you the game with citadel.(If you are playing both jace and labman, your opponents would have to exile both of them, and Jace is a less dead Card, if you don't combo with him.) But I am sure, you have good reasons to play Doomsday, and I will surely check out the primer to get behind it! Other Things I'm a bit curious about: Which purpose do the Helm of Awakening and the Thing in the Ice  Flip serve?

I like this deck build a lot. Why have you chose Circu, Dimir Lobotomist as the commander? I mean, in which way does the commander interact with this strategy? Or is it flavour? I think of Lazav, the Multifarious , which can possible turn into the Laboratory Maniac .

Circu is my favorite Dimir card by far and always has been since he was released. I threw together a build similar to this as well. To answer your first question thom-le, Circu, Dimir Lobotomist is a win condition himself. For instance the easiest example is: Once you have infinite casts via Isochron Scepter and Dramatic Reversal you essentially exile every opponents library and then simply pass the turn. If I have misinterpreted your first question, I apologize and ask if you could rephrase.

Sorry I meant the Laboratory Maniac w Doomsday as win condition specifically. I'm building Circu-deck on my own and also thought about this alternative win but I have no clue why this does work with the commander well.

Ah. Well, Doomsday / Lab man win conditions are very popular with UBx style decks. I have recently scrapped Doomsday from my Circu list because my experience with Doomsday was that it was too mana intensive and risky when I'm not running the high tide storm version, and my deck included the ability to Demonic Consultation and Tainted Pact as a win. thom-le Sorry, I cant really answer your question other than what I stated above, about how Laboratory Maniac routes are very popular in UBx whether it be via Doomsday or Demonic Consultation + Tainted Pact .
