Hi,

I got into MTG during Shadowmoor. I love the elemental tribe and wanted to do something different than current Elemental Builds.

Feel free to comment, I love constructive feedback. The description is a WIP as the deck continues to evolve and needs to be updated.

The basic idea is as follows:

Step 1: Get rid of threats using removal and discard.

Step 2: Hit hard and fast with Elemental tribal.

Step 3: Repeat steps 1 & 2 with the graveyard.

CARDS SELECTION :

Blackcleave Cliffs: We want to make fast plays early, after that we are probably using it a discard material or we're dead anyways. We are here for a fun time not a long time so Blackcleave Cliffs it is.

Castle Locthwain: When we throw away our hand to get our opponent to throw away theirs Castle Locthwain can be a lifeline that lets us easily run away with the game.

Cavern of Souls: It's tribal and I can cast non-creature spells when Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth is in play. Lots of non-creature spells so we only run 1.

Prismatic Vista: I picked this over other fetch lands simply because I usually grab my basic lands anyway and this gives me access to both.

Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth: I always see people sleep on this card. Upgrades all lands into Swamps. Mountains becoming duel lands is good, but not needing to fetch a fetch land when you are low on life or the ability to cast non-creature spells with your Cavern of Souls gives it crazy value. Plus it synergizes with Castle Locthwain.

Fatal Push: Best 1 mana removal spell in black. I may go down from 4 to 2 to make room and because I might have enough removal.

Lightning Bolt: If you are not playing Lightning Bolt in red, are you really playing red?

Collective Brutality: A very Versatile card that synergizes really well with the deck. Life gain, removal, and discard Make it always relevant. What puts it over the edge is the ability to discard something I want in the yard. Not only are we now getting a 2 or even 3 for 1 but we set up our next play.

Inquisition of Kozilek and Thoughtseize: Must have in Black. Turn 1 know your opponents hand and get rid of your biggest problem is unsurprisingly good. If we are feeling really ballsy we can target ourselves to discard Lightning Skelemental so we can bring it back with Thunderkin Awakener or Unearth turn 2.

Unearth: Gets our threats out of the yard after we put them there. It brings back Dreadhorde Arcanist unlike Thunderkin Awakener. It can be cycled for card draw when we need it. It allows for crazy plays like not playing a cards turn 1 so you can discard Lightning Skelemental and unearth it turn 2.

Bone Shards: Two reasons. First, one mana destroy target creature or planeswalker is good. Second, this card enables us to remove a threat and pitch Lightning Skelemental, Flamekin Harbinger, or Ashenmoor Liege to the yard so they can be brought back with Thunderkin Awakener or Unearth as early as turn 2.

Lightning Skelemental: Our go to wincon. In previous iterations we would give it double strike to swing for 12 and force our opponents to discard 4 cards. If anyone has ideas on how to still make that happen I would love to hear them!

Thunderkin Awakener: If you see thunder expect lightning. We can also use it to bring back Flamekin Harbinger for a repeatable tutor effect. If Ashenmoor Liege is in play we can bring back Elementals with a toughness of 2.

Flamekin Harbinger: The ability to tutor turn 1 makes the deck consistent and allows us to play 1 offs in our sideboard like Ingot Chewer.
