Maybeboard

Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper and Dargo, the Shipwrecker are pretty hungry, and there is a lot of belly space to fill. The two generals play for a slower more controlling gameplan, it doesn't matter how long it takes to feast, just that they do feast. A combination of cards work well as an appetizer and once that combination is assembled, the two generals can chow on three platters.

The main combo: Dargo, the Shipwrecker, Phyrexian Altar, and enough artifacts and summons to get Dargo down to will work.

Just sacrifice enough artifacts/summons to cast Dargo for one red, next sacrifice him to the altar and return him to the general camp. Now you have one red in the manapool and a Dargo in the general camp that can be cast for one red because you've already sacrificed x artifacts/summons to cast him for one and his sacrifice also transfers over to following casts. You now have an infinite general storm count and an extra mountain mana.

You win with a summon like Mayhem Devil to chop up your opponents into bite-sized pieces for your generals.

You can also sacrifice Dargo to Birthing Pod or Eldritch Evolution to find Razaketh, the Foulblooded and then assemble the combo through the starving demon.

This deck performs well in a slower more summon based environment. My meta contains an intoxicating amount of stax and control decks.

Play this deck if:

  • you like to Jund 'em out

  • summon heavy decks are your jam

  • you like to play at a semi-competitive level

  • you like to play both midrange and combo builds

  • you hate Junk

  • you enjoy all sorts of birthing pods

Steer away from this deck if:

  • you like interacting with the stack

  • you want to win the game as fast as possible

  • you don't like Jund

One of the most notable quality of having hungry hungry Dargo as a commander and part of a combo, is that we can play nearly any stax pieces we want, including those that obstruct the combo. By sacrificing the obstructive stax pieces to the hungry pirate we can combo off, we don't have to worry about playing Null Rod and Collector Ouphe in an artifact based combo deck.
