"Belbe's Big Mana Spells, Fog, & Magecraft Combos"
This deck aims to get a few cards out early that deal damage to all opponents at the beginning of my turn, to get early big mana with Belbe.
* [[card:Mardu Shadowspear]]
* [[card:Thrull Parasite]]
* [[card:Vicious Rumors]]
* [[card:Sanctum of Stone Fangs]]
* [[card:Creeping Bloodsucker]]
* [[card:Dina, Soul Steeper]]
* [[card:Loyal Subordinate]]
* [[card:Spawn of Mayhem]]
* [[card:Leechridden Swamp]]
* [[card:Crypt Ghast]]
* [[card:Triskaidekaphobia]]
Mid-game, cards like [[card:Strionic Resonator]] or [[card:Doubling Cube]] vastly increase the mana availble, while cards like [[card:Sunstone]] and [[card:Dawnstrider]] prevent my opponents from getting Belbe's mana.
The deck attempts to get Eldrazi titans out as early as possible, or other high mana value cards or X spells, including:
* [[card:Animist's Awakening]]
* [[card:Enshrined Memories]]
* [[card:Finale of Devastation]]
* [[card:Finale of Eternity]]
* [[card:Genesis Hydra]]
* [[card:Primal Surge]]
* [[card:Sadistic Sacrament]]
* [[card:Torment of Hailfire]]
* [[card:Worst Fears]]
In the late game, you might be able to sneak a win with several combos, including:
* Magecraft combos with chain spells ([[card:Professor Onyx]] or [[card:Witherbloom Apprentice]] with [[card:Chain of Smog]] or [[card:Chain of Acid]].)
* [[card:Dina, Soul Steeper]] or [[card:Sanguine Bond]] with [[card:Exquisite Blood]].
I've done a bit of research on cards that would go well with Belbe, and I've chosen a direction to go with it, but I haven't built the actual deck yet. I'm open to receiving feedback about card choices, because it will save me money when I don't buy something I won't end up using.
I'm thinking about replacing clunky [[card:Astral Cornucopia]] and [[card:Everflowing Chalice]] with boring [[card:Sol Ring]] and [[card:Arcane Signet]]. I originally chose those mana rocks because they can soak up a lot of Belbe's mana, but I actually prefer mana rocks to be cheap, and I can use that mana for something more important. Another thing is that there are a few 1 mana black cards that can come out on turn 1 and damage all opponents on turn 2 when I get Belbe out. This means potentially very big early plays on turn 2 or 3. I've chosen not to go this route, because instead of 6 or 8 mana cards I'm casting 10-12 mana spells. I want cards that can survive a bit better, like [[card:Sanctum of Stone Fangs]].
