The #5 Vial/Thrasios deck on TappedOut!

 

By request from The_2ndpanda, here is my take on Vial Smasher. I looked at doing a solo build and also partnering with Kraum as the original request, but I really think Smasher thrives with more ramp so the splash of green was deemed necessary. This build is very control oriented and looks to win through the burn acheived through Smasher's ability. We use a lot of alternative costs like Miracle, Suspend and Delve as well as well as the abilities of Jeleva and Galvanoth to cast big CMC spells for little or nothing meaning more burn aimed at your opponents.

In my ongoing endeavor to bring frugality to Commander, each card in this deck is under $2 and the whole deck is under $40. Just make sure all suggested cards are under $2.

The Strategy

Step 1 = Play as much ramp as you can

Step 2 = If you have decent ramp, play Vial Smasher the Fierce and start dropping bombs. If you weren't able to draw ramp, play Thrasios, Triton Hero to ramp/draw into ramp.

Step 3 = Keep the board under control as you burn down your opponents

The Win Cons

1) Burn from your commander

2) Infect from your commander with Phyresis / Glistening Oil

3) Big stuff belonging to your opponents that you can grab from the #CopySteal section
