GIANT update! Get it? Cause he's a giant? whatever —Aug. 10, 2017

Thank you.

50 upvotes milestone! 25 folders! 60+ Comments!

I am simply floored by all the help I'm getting, whether from EDh masters I've asked for help, you guys from the "advertise your commander deck" forum, or people who just stumbled on to this. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Seriously.

Bad Luck Brion is sadly no longer budget friendly. Will be making a panel with budget suggestions in the description, may also make a new decklist. What do you all think?

Bad Luck Brion will be going through some turbulence in the coming months. As I transition it from budget to reasonably priced and as I figure out if I should cut the Sunforger aspect or cut the +X/+0 cards, or cut the Threaten cards, or all, or none! Through it all the main concept of the deck will stay the same: Sacking stuff I would have to sack anyway. Hold on to your butts!

Recent changes-your suggestions aren't for naught!

IN:

Recruiter of the Guard - can tutor for almost any creature in my deck, including late game bombs like Phyrexian Dreadnought and Nova Chaser.

Avarice Amulet - Vigilance for Brion(Swing 'n' Fling the same turn), card draw, and a negated downside because Brion goes to the command zone.

Reflecting Pool - Nothing special, just traded for it and don't have another deck to put it in. Works fine.

Solemn Simulacrum - A better Kor Cartographer.

Phyrexian Dreadnought - Finally! The , deal 12 damage, gain 12 life combo! Excited to see who I can kill with this!

Sneak Attack - Now all of my creatures cost ! huge mana saver! It's repeatable, meaning Illusionist's Bracers or Thornbite Staff could find their way back in here, and it also opens up the possibility to throw some Eldrazi in here to get some ridiculous amounts of damage in for a very low cost! Many directions I could take this, all will be considered when I eventually make the cuts I talked about.

OUT:

Stone Quarry - had to replace something I guess.

Rush of Blood - the beginning of the end for the +X/+0 spells.

Kor Cartographer - A worse Solemn Simulacrum.

Staff of Nin - The Amulet seemed better. Will find more card draw soon.

Scorchwalker - Was just "Eh".

Lightning Serpent - Only good when he's expensive, making him not good.

Cleaned up the sideboard.

Cleaned up the maybeboard.

Updated Description.

Bad Luck Brion is now the second most popular Brion Stoutarm deck on TappedOut!

Just one last thank you to all who upvote and comment! You guys are the best!

Would you mind if I leave a link to this deck in my primer? I think it'll be really beneficial for people to see a budget friendly Brion and I always love seeing different takes on my favorite commander!

Awesome deck concept! I suggest Sun Titan for another reanimation dude.

Here are my suggestions and some recommended removals to tighten the deck. Molten Primordial, Lifeline, Assault Suit, Recruiter of the Guard, Solemn Simulacrum, Burnished Hart, Infiltration Lens, 2x Plains (36 lands should be your minimum despite your mana rocks in order to consistently get to 4 lands by turn 4), Rage Nimbus, Master Warcraft, Nim Deathmantle, Thornbite Staff, Umbral Mantle, Helm of Possession, Anarchist, Illusionist's Bracers, Caged Sun, Gilded Lotus, Rugged Prairie, Iroas, God of Victory, Obsidian Battle-Axe, Mob Rule, Savage Beating, Adarkar Valkyrie, Karmic Guide

Suggestions to remove:

Clean up repetitious cards in sideboard and maybeboard that are in the deck. Best of luck, hope some of that is helpful.

Lifeline is so good in this deck. I love it.

Yes, yes it is :) I've never seen anybody play it in Brion for some reason.

I've got in mine, and I've been an ambassador for it since I've built my version.

With the amount of basics you are running, Terrain Generator can be a good way to get them onto the battlefield faster. Also, Terramorphic Expanse is a nice second copy of E wilds as well. Additionally, Bloodmad Vampire could be a nice way to build up power to fling at your opponents with Brion. Not used to working on a budget, so hope my comment helps! Like the deck though!

RingoDingo92 thanks for the suggestion! I've definitely considered him as he'd hit about 25% of my deck. Thanks!

Fergernuggets Thanks for stopping by! Terrain Generator might be a good replacement for Armillary Sphere. Bloodmad Vampire might be good, but he's too easy to block I think. Thanks!

EternalBrewmaster I'm so very grateful that you took the time to make that list! And cut suggestions! I love you! A few follow up questions so I can get a better understanding of your reasoning:

Why Rage Nimbus exactly? I get that it can kill some annoying creatures and is 5 power for 3 mana, but is he really a good fit for what this deck is doing? And what other cards can work well with him?

From my experience, I'd never have enough mana for Nim Deathmantle to work. Is it worth the $6?(super budget player, I know)

Helm of Possession is awesome but what creatures do I have to sacrifice? I'm always sacking them to Brion.

What exactly is wrong with Armillary Sphere, and Open the Armory? Are they just sub-par?

Do you have a good card draw engine to replace Staff of Nin?

How many cards is a critical mass for Sunforger? Just out of curiosity.

Also what to you think of Neheb, the Eternal being in here?

What do you think of the more expensive cards I want to add? Sneak Attack, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, Phyrexian Dreadnought?

Otherwise, I love all of your suggestions! Some are counted out do to budget but most are under consideration! Again Thank you so much for your help!
