Azorious Circle Control

Description

An Azorious Prison for Modern utilizing a reliable Draw-Go engine to lock down your opponent's creatures and keeping the opponent off their game plan.

Card Choices

Verity Circle is our main engine for the deck.

I have removed Jace, the Mind Sculptor from the deck as I believe Teferi, Hero of Dominaria is more in line with the decks game plan. If I get a few copies in the future I will test with him, but if you want to play with it please tell me what you think of the card choice!

Note: I believe you can build this deck in more than one way with some of the cards below, a prime example being Snapcaster Mage vs. Mission Briefing. I think the strategies will be viable if you build the deck to synergize properly, test and record your findings!

I think Snapcaster Mage is necessary but could also be replaced by Mission Briefing, the main deck will need to be changed to support the M.B plan but I think that won't change the reliability to lock down the opponent, you just won't get that blocker or clock on your opponent.

Mutavault could be a handy win-con over time (as your opponent should be tapped out of the game when it's time to end it) Run this if you dont have Collonade.

I want to run Ensnaring Bridge main deck to help keep our opponent's creatures back so they can be tapped to draw us cards. A win con that doesn't include creatures should definitely be in the deck, possibly 2 copies of Approach of the Second Sun could do the job, with the Teferi's should cover our end game.

Gideon, Champion of Justice. I like this card in this deck because we want our opponent to have creatures, and we don't want them to affect us via the tapping down, thus we can get Gideon to be fairly large, exile everything, and possibly one-shot our opponent the next turn (OR) just swing because their creatures are tapped down.

Perhaps Elixir of Immortality and maybe Sphinx's Revelation could be in here, I'm leaning to 1 copy of Elixir for the long game, if necessary, or possibly Thassa's Oracle.

Lab Maniac would work better in a build that has more protection for combo pieces, Path to Exile and all manner of spot removal exists in every game, and this current deck doesn't have any countermagic to help, Dispel, Negate, or any other utility counter would be needed in MB and/or SB, Chalice of the Void I would definitely run. (I have none to test with at this time)

String of Disappearances, This card excites me because we can obviously return our opponents creatures to their hand, but we can return our Merfolk Trickster to hand and then pay the 2 blue to nab something of theirs. If you're running this, there might be a reason to run more E.T.B creatures, Vendilion Clique, even Brazen Borrower. I am going to test with 2 Clique in the 75 soon.
