Ayli leeches life and sacrifices creatures.

• Token engines and lots of recursion options provide a constant stream of creatures to sacrifice. Many recursion abilities are triggered. Every creature dying or entering the battlefield can trigger one of many gain life/lose life effects.

• Free and paid sac outlets add utility to our sacrifices: draw cards, gain mana, and best of all: exile permanents with Ayli herself. Creatures then return as Spirits or from the graveyard, or straight to hand.

• Once we have a few creatures and/or triggers out, we can accelerate towards a victory with cards like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Sanguine Bond .

• Our responsiveness comes entirely from instant speed sacrifices, instant speed spells are absent. Otherwise, the play gets going pretty fast as the deck is cheap, 3 mana accesses most of its power.

• No tutors except for Thalia's Lancers and Pyre of Heroes , both very useful to get our Legendary combo engines out and replace them with other similar type creatures, such as Clerics and Advisors, Humans, Vampires and Knights. In addition, Inventors' Fair could provide a shot at an artifact fetch.
