Brief Overview

With Strixhaven we got five new Pre-Constructed Commander Decks and I decided to build some new Decks around some of the Pre-Constructed Commanders as well as around some of the Legends from the Main Set. The fourth of this Decks resolves around Veyran, Voice of Duality and her ability to generate multiple Magecraft triggers. This is my first Spellslinger Deck since I was always very unsure how to build such a deck. With the help of Upgrade videos from EDH-Rec, the Command Zone and other Youtube-channels I finally built one myself.

Main Strategy

The main strategy is to use Cantrips like Ponder , Preordain , Expedite or Needle Drop to chain together many different Spells. By using payoffs like Archmage Emeritus , Young Pyromancer , Guttersnipe or Murmuring Mystic I can generate different Tokens or deal direct damage to my opponents. Since my Commander doubles up all these triggers, the payoffs are even bigger and if things get rough I could swing with Card:Veyran, Voice of Duality|Veyran at my opponents for Commander-damage.

Generating Mana

With Cards like Storm-Kiln Artist or Birgi, God of Storytelling   each Spell I cast can generate me Mana for casting even more Spells. Furthermore Spells like Mana Geyser , Seething Song or Jeska's Will are able to generate me some Mana while even triggering the abilities of my different Payoffs. Aside of generating Mana I included cards like Baral, Chief of Compliance , Rowan, Scholar of Sparks   and Jace's Sanctum to lower the cost of my Instants and Sorceries.

What's better than one Spell? Multiple Spells!

To further enhance the ability of my Commander and cards like Archmage Emeritus I inlcuded some options to copy my Spells. Enchantments like Swarm Intelligence or Thousand-Year Storm enable me to copy my Spells to generate even more triggers. Aside these enchantments I included cards like Dual Strike or Teach by Example to generate copies by playing Instants and Sorceries.

Even more Spells?

I was wondering if I should remove some of the Cards that make my Spells cheaper like Jace's Sanctum , Goblin Electromancer and Baral, Chief of Compliance . I would add some of the following Cantrips:

• Cerulean Wisps
• Cloak of Feathers
• Sorcerous Sight
• Thought Scour
• Twisted Image

Let me know if you think this changes would be better or not. I think they woul lower the Curve even further and could thus make this deck even more explosive.

Summary

All in all I think I created a nice Spellslinger-Seck resolving around Veyran, Voice of Duality . If anyone has some tipps how to improive this deck help would be appreciated since as said before, this is my first deck of this kind.
