Shadows/Innistrad —March 18, 2016

With the large number of new werewolves, werewolf lords, and transform cards in the new set, this deck is in a state of flux! Still figuring out which wolves I want to keep and which don't make the cut ;)

Hey, never thought of Eidolon of Rhetoric! I went R/G/B in my Werewolf deck to get the old Black werewolves, but that was before I realized they were such shite. I would suggest Doubling Season for Moar Wolves and Ward of Bones as transform 'encouragement'. Maybe Silence ?

I hope they finally get a decent Werewolf commander in the new 'return to Innistrad'...

Heyo, good idea on the Ward of Bones, didn't think of that one, and it's pretty brutal with the relatively low artifact count + bounce lands. I've heard rumors that they're not going to print a legendary werewolf, which sucks :/ But, hopefully tribe support at least :D

Is it wrong that when I read the title I only thought of Nixon from Futurama?

Coat of Arms maybe?

I first questioned the color white in your deck, but now I understand how that works with the transform mechanic... cheeky dick waffle you are. Really like the deck idea!!

I've been looking for ideas for a werewolf build for some time now. The new werewolf planeswalker Arlinn Kord would be awesome here!

I'll also show you a play from my mono green wolf token deck Wolfborn Armada 2.5. Take a Master of the Wild Hunt, and make a bunch of wolf tokens with either it, or something that drops them quickly. These have to be wolves specifically for the ability to work. Next, you'll want to throw down a Stuffy Doll and target your selected foe.

Any time you can activate it (I like to do so at the end of a turn, or in response to a sweep), tap your Master of the Wild Hunt and target Stuffy Doll for massive damage! It gets even better if your wolves are buffed.

Also, have you considered Mina and Denn, Wildborn for a commander?

I know! I'm SUPER excited to add all the stuff from the new set (the set announcement was the main reason I built the deck IRL, haha!)

A friend of mine in my play group actually has a Mina and Denn, Wildborn deck, but I like having white for more removal/lock cards. I'm right now considering adding a few more instant speed removal options (a la Swords to Plowshares)

Also, awesome deck concept - I had a similar deck around Stuffy Doll, only it was based on Nin, the Pain Artist. I'm not sure if I'll add him to this deck though, as I'm going fairly strict with the tribal theme. I might take out some of the non-wolf/werewolves to make room for the new stuff, in fact.

Fair enough. If you go white removal, be sure it's more nefarious than simply destroying the object. You could go for Crib Swap, Condemn, there's a green spell called Unravel the Aether that might fit the bill too.

Ooo, good tech on Unravel the Aether, I haven't seen that one. Also, instant speed :3 Good for keeping werewolves flipped.
