+1 for the deck name. Deck itself seems solid, but when I'm purusing decks on here and come across probably the one and only one on the site referencing Arcade Fire (AND I'm wearing my AF shirt right now to boot), I need to upvote it!

Very nice! Yeah Arcades is a cool dude. I tried building a Doran, the Siege Tower deck back in the day, but I think the blue Arcades brings with him is better for this sort of deck than Doran's black. Plus, Arcades' abilities are obviously cooler.

I enjoy the direction you are going with the deck. But I am not sure about Rolling Stones being in the deck. In most cases you will have Arcades out. So it will be useless if it is out. And for the cases that you do not have Arcades out, you still need something to allow it to deal damage based on it's toughness. That is why I believe Assault Formation is better in every way. The only drawback is that it uses the toughness instead of the power. Which could be bad for high power creatures in the deck. But every creature in your deck would benefit from using the toughness rather than power.

nuggnugg Yup, Rolling stones isn't ideal to have out by itself, but it is hard to remove redundancy that you need in singleton formats. Assault Formation is indeed already in the deck and combined with Rolling Stones, it is basically a second copy of Arcades minus the card draw.

I run almost exclusively low power creatures except for Dromoka and Sun Titan.

The thing I am considering switching up is putting in some enchantment tutors for more reliable game states for the deck.

usaDiabetic I understand having redundancy in the deck. And Rolling Stones will do what you need for 16 of the cards in the deck. But all the non-Wall defenders do not benefit by it. And the fact that they can do is attack without adding their power means that you have no benefit to attacking. I agree that getting a tutor for any of the other enchants would be a great addition.

nuggnugg correct, but that's 16 creatures that I don't need to pay Assault Formations attack tax on, which can be game changing if Arcades has been killed off too many times(which is likely because he is a lightning bolt for removal on my side of the table).

Is Rolling Stones a good card? No it is not.

Do I think it is needed in this deck? Kind of, yes. I definitely see your point and think it's a sub optimal card, but it's the only thing I have haha. Not many cards in magic let walls or defenders attack, so I'll take all of them, even the bad ones.

usaDiabetic Understandable. I don't have it in my deck but if you think it is worth the slot, then go for it! It is a fun commander to work with and sometimes that redundancy is needed because like you said. It gets targeted heavily.

nuggnugg Yeah it can definitely be a "feels bad" card when you're top decking and you draw Rolling Stones, but I've very rarely been top decking with this builds card draw.

Great deck! I was wondering how you'd feel about adding an Abzan Beastmaster, as you seem so fond of drawing cards :) Not sure what to replace with it though ...

On a side not, my husband and I feel that although Arcades has entered the scene and his abilities are definitely stronger than Doran's, we still enjoy playing our Doran deck a lot. Black does give some nice extra, cheap-to-cast tutors and some draw options to help tip the scales in our favor.

As for Doran, I really like having access to blue instead of black, even though I probably don't utilize it as much as I should in this build. I do love Blues walls and flicker effects.

I built an Arcades deck myself recently and I absolutely love it. A few cards I can recommend that have been amazing for me that I don't see in your list are: Wall of Shards, Hover Barrier, Bar the Door and Slaughter the Strong. There's a few cards here I never thought of that I'm totally adding to mine so thanks for the ideas! Hope that helps, good luck!

I'd consider replacing Spellbook with Library of Leng. Gives the added benefit of having the ability to shrug off randomly-discard-a-card effects which are quite annoying( read the oracle text, seriously). Also gives you the option to just put the card on top of your deck instead.

Definitely! After you commented this I cut belligerent brontodon for her. I also got super lucky an opened the stained glass version of her in a Secret Lair recently. Crazy pumped, and she has been a killer in this list!
