Introduction

This is just a fun build I've been kicking around in my head for some time, and decided to finally try to put it together. I know there are a lot of broken builds with Anje at the helm, most of them running the Animate Dead + Worldgorger Dragon combo. I didn't want to do that here. Instead, I wanted to do something a little more laid back and casual. Reanimator is one of my favorite archetypes to play, and Anje's activated ability is perfect for getting big creatures into the graveyard while digging for the reanimation spells to bring them back.

The Method

The plan here is simple; discard fat creatures and reanimate them with cheap spells, cheating the mana curve. The primary engine here, obviously, is going to be Anje Falkenrath and her rummaging ability. I turn the big creatures I can't cast early in the game into another card I can hopefully use to ramp up or even reanimate what I discard. Anje is great, not only because of her built-in rummage effect, but having haste is fantastic, and there's no waiting until the next turn to start getting card advantage.

The Madness

Anje's ability to untap after discarding a Madness card is very niche, but for this build, it is perfect. I've tried to include as many useful Madness cards in the deck as possible, and I plan to cast many of the Madness cards here for there Madness cost, and not to just churn through the library looking for one game-winning combo. However, I do want to draw and discard as many times in a turn as I can to more quickly get my threats into the graveyard, and the Madness cards are great for this. I'm trying to get as much value as I can out of rummaging, along with working toward my goal of reanimating my finishers.

Value

I'm looking to get value anywhere I can, and in this deck, it's good for that value to be tied to discarding. Bone Miser is great for this, and his cousin (that I'm going to add) Surly Badgersaur is too. Key to the City is great value, and Glint-Horn Buccaneer and Faith of the Devoted add incremental damage to the discard effects.

Conclusion

It's a pretty simple build with a pretty direct game plan. If you like to draw cards and reanimate stuff, give a +1!
