With the banning of Paradox Engine, this deck is dead in its cEDH form. May Sisay rest in peace aboard her great Boat in the Sky.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Paradox Sisay, it is an adaptive cEDH (competitive traditional multiplayer EDH) deck designed to be able to either combo out quickly (consistently between turns 3 and 5) or play the long game through Stax, much of which it breaks parity on thanks to the mana ramp of Green, the hatebears available in GW, and Sisay's wonderful tutoring ability.

My Sisay deck is tuned for speed, not for Stax. My meta is considerably faster than many others I've heard about, so most games are a race rather than a war of attrition. As such, I generally only play Stax pieces I easily break parity on.

So, where does that leave my deck and what does the awesome song I associated the deck with mean? Boats! This version of Sisay is optimized to use Skyship Weatherlight, which not only gives us a consistent combo that can play through some Stax pieces and has fewer dead cards than the old Azusa + Inventors' Fair -> Blasting Station + Bow of Nylea + Hope of Ghirapur -or- Selvala, Explorer Returned + Thousand-Year Elixir + Dosan the Falling Leaf lines, it also gives us what is arguably the most flavorful deck in cEDH as Captain Sisay takes her rightful place aboard the Skyship Weatherlight! BOATS! A themey-memey deck that actually uses lore cards to win and does it consistently and quickly? WHAT WICK'D SORCERY BE THIS!?

This wincon is pretty easy to assemble. You don't even need nonland mana sources on the board to start it. Sisay tutors Paradox Engine, which is cast. Cast a spell to untap Sisay. The next 4 tutors are Mox Amber, Mox Opal, Seton, Krosan Protector, and Rishkar, Peema Renegade, playing these in order (generate G from Amber and then GG from Amber + Opal). This gives 4 mana per untap, but we're not there yet. Next, we cast all of our cheap Legendary spells (3 CMC or lower) that are left, generating more and more mana as we go. Soon, we'll have enough to find, cast, activate, and use the card we grab from Skyship Weatherlight. We want to cast the Boat and put all rocks with CMC 0 or 1 (2 if you can produce it, which grabs Grim Monolith) as well as Caustic Caterpillar and Sensei's Divining Top in the boat. With 4 of the floating mana, grab one at random. There should be enough mana left, so cast it and repeat the process until the Boat is empty. Draw a card with Sensei's Divining Top, kill the Boat with Caterpillar, put Boat and Caterpillar back in the deck with Bow of Nylea, and repeat the process. Grab Boat with Sisay and put Top and Caterpillar in again. Rinse and repeat. You will draw your entire deck with this and generate practically infinite mana. Incorporate Beast Within/Generous Gift into the mix to blow up all permanents your opponents control and Swords to Plowshares to kill all the resulting tokens. Proceed to win by continually looping Beast Within and Swords to Plowshares to kill their permanents, Silence to stop spells, and beating face with hatebears.

Alternatively, one can replace Bow of Nylea, Beast Within, and Swords in the combo with Lightning Greaves and Grand Abolisher (which are placed in the Boat) and Selvala, Explorer Returned. This will deck every opponent out. Simply play the rocks, Abolisher, Greaves, and Top. Draw with Top first and then Parley. You'll draw Top. Play it, draw with it, and Parley again. Keep this process going until you find Green Sun's Zenith. Cast it for just G and fail to find. Continue with the combo, rinsing and repeating Green Sun's Zenith to keep you from decking out while opponents will be forced to draw theirselves to death.

The other line, which plays well around new Narset, relies on the same mana combo line, but it uses Saffi Eriksdotter, Bow of Nylea, and Bontu's Monument to infinitely drain all opponents. With Bow of Nylea and Bontu's Monument on the board, cast Saffi, sac her to herself to protect something irrelevant, put her back in the deck with Bow of Nylea, and repeat this process by tutoring her back out with Sisay.

Sadly, there is no plan B. This deck is all in on the Boat or Monument. Were it not for Paradox Engine, this deck wouldn't even function, so it's all or nothing either way.

The Boat combos can be played through Ethersworn Canonist and Spirit of the Labyrinth by throwing Qasali Pridemage into the boat in addition to Caustic Caterpillar. Whenever one is played, have it kill Canonist or Spirit (Artifact and Enchantment creatures, respectively) and proceed with the rest of the combo, using the other creature in the Boat to blow up the Boat and reset it if necessary. Bow of Nylea factors back into this if going for the winless wincon, in which either Caustic Caterpillar or Qasali Pridemage will be needed (but not both unless both Stax creatures are on the board, in which case Ethersworn Canonist is always killed first).

The Selvala line combos around Rest in Peace, one of our best effectively asymmetrical Stax cards, and is worth consideration for that alone. That being said, Rest in Peace can simply be destroyed mid-combo with the Boat. If both Caustic Caterpillar and Qasali Pridemage are available, throw both in the boat alongside Grand Abolisher, rocks, and Top, use one to kill Rest in Peace, use the other to kill the Boat after it is empty, and then start the whole thing over by drawing with Top, putting Boat on the bottom of the deck with Bow, tutoring it with Sisay, casting it and finding Top, etc. If only one of the two creatures is available, simply throw it into the boat, use it to blow up Rest in Peace, and proceed to the Monument wincon instead.

With my deck running as it currently is, there are a few flex slots available. The main cards I question in here right now are Lightning Greaves, Grafdigger's Cage, and Selvala, Explorer Returned. Grafdigger's Cage currently has practically no effect in my meta, though it's a powerful card I'll happily keep put aside in case things change. The other two are part of an irrelevant combo line, though they make up the line I prefer playing. Cutting them from the deck does absolutely nothing to the original Boat line, which is just as viable. With the addition of Monument and Saffi, which combo well around new Narset, an actual threat in my meta who stops the other line cold, Selvala simply isn't needed.

Sadly, there are too few good cards in this color combination. It is difficult to find replacements.
