Based on a Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed deck I used to play against on MTGO several years ago. Wish I could give proper credit.

As far as I remember his deck was largely an infinite mana/large mana "combo" deck utilizing mana doublers and deserted temple + Rings of Brighthearth + cabal coffers + Exsanguinate. It's the recent Rings of Brighthearth reprint that really made me want to make my own version of this deck.

He also utilized some staxy cards like Contamination, Bottomless Pit and Tangle Wire but I don't think his curve allowed for my darling Winter Orb.

Lastly he packed some value engines like Grave Titan that could just win the game if left alone for a while.

Key plays I remember are getting tutors back with Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed to combo off, repeatedly pulling back Tangle Wire and some slow but steady reanimation of his commander to get him to the win.

This wasn't a particularly powerful deck, even for 2015... even for MTGO in 2015, but I have a lot of very fond memories playing against it. The pilot was also quite sportsmanlike and that goes a long way.

I unfortunately do not own a Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed or wish to spend the (currently) $60.00 to purchase one. I will likely be using Yawgmoth, Thran Physician or Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief. I would consider Yahenni, Undying Partisan or Ob Nixilis of the Black Oath as they are my favorite mono black commanders but I wanted to make something a little different.
