"And third again she [Echidna] bore the grisly-minded Lernaean Hydra, whom the goddess white-armed Hera nourished because of her quenchless grudge against strong Herakles" - Hesiod's Theogony 313.

Sibling to the Sphinx, Cerberus, the Chimera, the Hesperidean Dragon and the two headed dog named Othrus, the Hydra is best known as the second Labour of Herakles and for having either nine heads (Alcaeus) or fifty heads (Simonides). Or if you really want to argue, the only decent thing to come out of Disney's Hercules aside from Hades. The Hydra was one of the most difficult creatures to kill; Herakles needed the help of Iolaus and Athena in order to defeat it. In MTG, they are just as annoying.

This deck focuses on building a Hydra army using tokes and +1/+1 counters (since head counters no longer exist, which makes me cry) and then either fighting the pathetic whelps that the opponents deign to put in front of my very hungry Hydras or just simply trample over them and attack. Renata, Called to the Hunt and Beast Whisperer have been added t give some extra support to my Hydras, and also signify those who do not simply hunt the Hydra.

I welcome suggestions! Stay safe guys.
