High Council of Meletis

Commander / EDH RGWU

Temur_Frontier

Slight improvement from the base deck. I basically put in some more draw power, so that your hand can keep up with the excessive mana; seriously this deck fizzles out surprisingly fast in it's original form. I also put in some more voting cards and such other cards to make the game more political.

So the deck basically works like this: build strong relations with your neighbors through Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis' humble, yet constant offerings of either land or information; Well of Ideas and Rites of Flourishing also have the benefit for all. Your new allies will also appreciate the diplomats Humble Defector and Orzhov Advokist and the contracts and treaties that result from them. Your most trusted advisors, Edric, Spymaster of Trest and Gwafa Hazid, Profiteer, if used expertly, can do much to inspire conflicts among your neighbors, building alliances with some while alienating and stifling others. To protect Meletis from threats, you may have to resort to deceptive Propaganda and the like, while the deathly Sandwurm Convergence protects your outer realms. It is likely one of your new friends will vastly outgrow everyone else and become a threat to the realm: unveiling the Coercive Portal can certainly help reset everyone's political relations, finding unity within the Council's Judgement to formally smite down the perpetrators, or if you feel you have a strong enough garrison to deal with the threat directly you can merely opt for a Plea for Power from your friends.

Now that your friends have ripped each other apart with your weapons and information, it is time to seize total control by conquering what's left of the weakened, bordering states. You can use your political prowess to undermine the others on the council by looking to Expropriate their wealth. Maybe a Windfall of immeasurable wealth will turn the tides of war, especially if you know the enemy has a trick up their sleeve. This would be a good time to utilize your scientific experiment Psychosis Crawler on your unsuspecting enemies. Perhaps the simplest way to victory is to have your court mage invoke Sublime Exhalation while your valiant defender commits to a Heroic Intervention to save your people only. Or, the symbol of the Polis' faith, Avacyn, Angel of Hope might save the people from a Blasphemous Act. Or maybe your strongest hero Ajani Steadfast will use his talents to strengthen his friends Elspeth, Sun's Champion and Teferi, Temporal Archmage to ensure an epic victory!
