New swords. I repeat, NEW. SWORDS. —June 18, 2019

Modern Horizons delivers the goods with a couple of welcome additions for Akiri to wield - new swords! How cool is that? Throwing in the new Boros talisman as well for good measure.

Out: Golem-Skin Gauntlets, Hedron Archive & Prowler's Helm

In: Sword of Sinew and Steel, Sword of Truth and Justice & Talisman of Conviction

Armory Automaton and Myr Adapter could be good alternate equipment carriers in case Akiri dies to many times.

Both are decent backup cards for sure, but also kind of go against my 'death by commander damage' strategy. Trying to keep the deck focused but definitely appreciate the suggestions, thank you and happy new year!

Hey duffman24. Life gain is always a happy little bonus, but I've found the most important thing for this deck is speed & evasion. Ramp & draw into equipment quickly, protect Akiri and make her unblockable for swift kills. That said, I like your inclusion of Basilisk Collar - cheap to cast/equip and deathtouch is always a great deterrent.

Hello, great deck! Have you thought about Tiana, Ship's Caretaker in the 99?

Yeah. I like Tiana and she's on theme, but that casting cost is a little much. You could argue that Sun Titan's recursion is equally slow in terms of casting cost, however he'll bring permanents (usually equipment) back immediately vs. defensively + he's got twice the stats - I'd rather focus on immediate impact & being the aggressor. Certainly a noteworthy suggestion all the same chiri, cheers!

You could add Smothering Tithe for free mana and free artifacts to pump Akiri.
