Aggrandizement

[uh-gran-dies-muhnt]

n. The act of aggrandizing, or increasing in size or intensity

The Gist

Version 2.0! The goal of this deck is straightforward; boost creatures through the roof with +1/+1 counters while also continually pressing an assault. The more creatures you have on the battlefield, the more pressure you put on opponents to reconsider taking one of them out, especially if their death will give Kresh the Bloodbraided a big buff. Is the deck perfect? No. Is it easy to take out with the proper deck? Absolutely. But for a deck of the same cost, it stands out. Unless you're challenging someone with a deck costing hundreds of dollars, you definitely have a shot. Just invest in a useful counter-tracking system; ideally, you'll have a lot of them.

Breakdown

Here's the main idea behind each of these categories:

MANA

Self-explanatory, the main sources of mana gain/conversion to power the deck. It's a little weak in lands so you might get starved, whoops lol.

SPOT REMOVAL

Kill, consume, and grow. Take out opponents' creatures to feed your Predators and break up synergy. Worst-case scenario is that you cannibalize your own creatures for the benefit of the others. Kresh gets a huge boon if a powerful creature can get taken out, which is a plus. In a pinch, if its possible to tip the 21-commander-damage win, something like a beefed-up Scute Mob can be destroyed to help Kresh.

COUNTERS

Generate and share. The bread and butter of the deck--distribute them wisely.

PREDATORS

Creatures that get stronger when other creatures die. Keep these ones alive until they're ready to start swinging.

PREY

You know how magic is all about distraction? These guys are the distraction. Most are glass cannons that put pressure on opponents to deal with them while the Predators feed off of their death.

MULTIPURPOSE

These cards can add counters, perform spot removal, swing, or support; whatever you need on a case-by-case basis.

Conclusion

Like I said, this is the second version of this deck. I shaved off a lot of the cards that didn't fit well in the central mechanic and found new ones that with better synergy. It's a slow-start deck, and works better against multiple opponents. If you lay low and feed off of others' dying creatures, you can build up your forces and snowball into a victory.
