• Introduction:

"The Emperor is our Father and our Guardian, but we must also Guard the Emperor."

— Teachings of the Adepta Sororitas

The Adepta Sororitas, colloquially called the "Sisterhood," whose military arm is also known as the Sisters of Battle and formerly as the Daughters of the Emperor, are an all-female division of the Imperium of Man's state church known as the Ecclesiarchy or, more formally, as the Adeptus Ministorum.

The Sisterhood's Orders Militant serve as the Ecclesiarchy's armed forces, mercilessly rooting out spiritual corruption and heresy within Humanity and every organisation of the Adeptus Terra.

  • The deck:

This here is a thematic 40k deck centered around the doings of the holy adepta sororitas, as a reskin of mardu knights led by Syr Gwyn. Equip holy relics on your zealous knights and go purge the heretics of this world! You will draw cards for attacking them and also those relics will equip for free too with the help of its holyness Morven Vahl. In the emperor we trust!

Syr Gwyn is a knight herself, and we have portrayed the whole sisterhood as a kind of knightly order of sorts, so she fits right in. She also is an actual very good payoff without being too powerful, and helps with the "relics of the past" theme we have going on. Overall, I'd doubt we could have a better candidate for a sisterhood commander.

  • The deck's strengths:

This is a fight heavy deck with a focus on artifacts, so combat is going to be our thing. Keep the commmander on board, and we can even be a voltron-y build, slapping people down with a massive Morven. Furthermore, we have the option of spreading out the equipment and draw cards in exchange for that, if slightly reducing our damage; which is a good thing, that allows us to recharge the hand in case we run out of gas. Cheating on the equip cost of artifacts like Colossus Hammer or Blackblade Reforged is nothing to scoff at.

  • The deck's weaknesses:

We are a board based deck that uses artifacts quite handily. That is both a boon and a curse, so we are of course weak to removal and specially mass removal or artifacts. We have some protection to symbolize the faith of the sororitas in Boros Charmfoil and Flawless Maneuver, but its oftentimes better to fight fire with a greater, more powerful fire; specially since we are in a 40k setting, and the Imperium faction does that in particular quite consistently. So we pack our own suite of powerful mass removal spells, like Vanquish the Horde and Ruinous Ultimatum. We also have some "miracle" cards to emphasise the power of faith.

In the darkness, follow the light of terra.
