With frontier coming up fast, I'm bringing back my old reliable - Adeliz Wizards! Based off of my old DOM standard deck, mixed with my old budget modern list, I'm throwing together something really spicy here, and I'm hoping it'll bring in some W's.
I'll be playing this on MTGO once I get it thrown together, in the meantime, I'd love to hear some other people's feedback! I'll update this description with matchup summaries as the format develops.
V2 10/28/19
I decided to slim down the list and focus on smoothing out the sequences.
Additions are:
Gave up:
Scions, Charm, and Fury really weren't cutting it. Control lists are developing too quickly to get away with not running Siren Stormtamer. Unsubstantiate has proven to be invaluable in the modern version of this deck, so I brought it over here. Expedite and Chart are both there to provide better draw power and smoother sequences, and the lone Treasure Cruise gives you an outlet to recover against bad midgames.
On to the sideboard!
As anyone will tell you, sideboards this early in the format are rough drafts, so I've gone the route of building a versatile board that can handle enough threats.
Tale's End
is incredible, I can't praise it enough. It stops so much stuff that you'll care about.
Magma Spray
hits anything that wants to come back, looking at you, Phoenix
Mystical Dispute
messes up anyone playing Teferi, Oko, Jace, Treasure Cruise, etc. Good card
Cerulean Drake
is pretty self-explanatory. Tiny blue dude stops big red dudes. Can also stop Thoughtseize!
Abrade
is our go-to artifact hate for the format.
Ionize
is a hard counter that doubles up on the punishment. Gotta love it.
Thanks for the up votes, guys, glad to see people enjoy the list!
