This is a spirit deck that uses
Drogskol Captain
and Intangible Virtue to bring out some nice Spirit creature tokens.
Cards
Beckon Apparition
A nice cheap card that we can play turn 1 to get ourselves a blocker. The instant speed is also really nice.
Doomed Traveler Another cheap card that allows us to get a creature on turn 1. This has the added advantage of becoming a Spirit when it dies.
Drogskol Captain
This guy is awesome for this deck. For three mana, we give all our Spirits +1/+1 and hexproof. Bye-bye burn spells.
Essence Flux This is nice control card that can protect our creatures and then buff them when they re-enter the battlefield.
Geist-Honored Monk This is a nice creature that gives us some tokens. She also can become extremely powerful in the late game.
Intangible Virtue One of the key cards in this deck, it makes our Spirit tokens much stronger. If played on turn 2, and if Spectral Procession is played turn 3, you could have 3 2/2 Spirits with flying and vigilance.
Not Forgotten This is a great card when used to trigger Spectral Procession. You can put that card on the top of your library and ensure that you get those three tokens the next turn. It also has the added bonus of giving you another Spirit token.
Rattlechains
This is a nice way to protect your Spirits at instant speed. It also gives your Spirit creatures flash, which is especially useful with
Drogskol Captain
.
Tranquil Cove
This is the dual land for this deck. It may be slow but, seeing as this deck is budget, they will have to do. The lifegain is also nice.
Spectral Procession This is, in my opinion, the best card in the deck. When you have a
Drogskol Captain
and an Intangible Virtue out on the battlefield, you can play Spectral Procession for only three mana and put 3 3/3 Spirits with flying, hexproof, and vigilance. Tell me that is not overpowered.
Topplegeist
When used with
Rattlechains
's flash ability, this creature's ability can surprise our opponent and possibly let one of our creatures swing unblocked.
Sideboard
Hindering Light
and Mana Leak are useful counter spells, especially with
Hindering Light
's added draw. Rootborn Defenses gives our creatures indestructible, so we can take a chance swinging for the final hit. It also gives us another token, as does Sundering Growth, which is here to rid the battlefield of any dangerous artifacts or enchantments.
I would also like to mention that this deck is EXTREME budget, about $15 US as of May, 2016. Any feedback is helpful and I would appreciate your support.
