Maybeboard

This deck is intended for Legacy Tribal Wars; a casual MTGO format in which at least a third of your deck must be creatures that share a single creature type. It uses roughly the same banned list as Legacy and there are no sideboards. You can find all of my Tribal Wars decks here.

I'm on a very tight budget so the cheaper the better; anything above 1 MTGO ticket per card is too much unless it would have a big impact as a singleton in the deck and/or it would be useful in several of my decks. Thanks for checking out my deck and I greatly appreciate suggestions and +1s.

Well...they do.

The game-plan here is to cheat big Minotaurs into play early with a Didgeridoo and then have them dominate the board. Since I haven't yet mastered the skill of always having the cards I need in my opening hand, however, the deck's backup plan is to delay the opponent in the early game with cheap burn and sweepers until I can use Krosan Verge and Fungal Reaches to ramp up enough mana to simply cast the Minotaurs.

The deck is intentionally 62 cards; due to rounding, it allows for a slightly higher ratio of non-tribal cards.

Boros Battleshaper - A king among Minotaurs; it just completely warps combat in my favour while it's on the battlefield. I don't want multiple of these trapped in my hand without a Didgeridoo, however, so I'm just running 3.

Blaze Commando - Generates value from all my interactive spells, although it's pretty bad if I don't also have a burn spell in hand and it does die to my own Anger of the Gods, so 4 might be too many but I'm not sure.

Boros Reckoner - A solid early game creature; it's pretty much guaranteed to always trade 1-for-1 and the opponent will often be forced to 2-for-1 themself to get it off the board.

Tahngarth, Talruum Hero - He has a powerful and useful ability but being legendary limits the amount I want in my deck.

Neheb, the Eternal - Pretty great to turbo out with Digeridoo as his mana-generating ability helps pay for other fatties ahead of schedule.

Lord of Shatterskull Pass - It's basically a 6 mana 6/6 that will only very, very occasionally have a super awesome triggered ability, but a 6/6 will often be the biggest body on the battlefield and it ends games pretty quickly.

Deadshot Minotaur - And rounding out the count we have this thing that cycles...I guess sometimes it's useful to actually cast, particularly against flyer decks, but I included it to help me draw into the other cards that I need.

Lightning Bolt - The original burn spell and still the best.

Lightning Helix - Cheap interaction plus life-gain to help tide me over until I get to the mid-late game against aggro decks.

Pyroclasm/Anger of the Gods - Sweepers to help this slow, lumbering deck catch up on board. Pyroclasm interacts better with my own creatures as both Boros Reckoner and Blaze Commando live through it but I feel like the 3 damage from Anger of the Gods is much more broadly useful and the exile clause is very helpful against recursive tribes like Zombies.

If you like the Didgeridoo angle of cheating fatties into play, I have a Wurm deck that's all about that:

Or if you want more goofy tribal decks with a bit of interaction, a bit of ramp and a bit of cheating, I have a 5-colour Elemental deck to cater to your oddly specific desire:

Elementally, My Dear Horde of Notions
