Maybeboard


The deck currently focuses on using the 5 Experience Counter Commanders from 2015 as a way to dish out either an army of tokens, or a Torment of Hailfire/Exsanguinate, where x is 100, or other such possible nonsense.

Gameplan

First thing is first, you have to find those Experience Counter Commanders, finding some protection such as Grand Abolisher is acceptable as well. The first commander I usually tutor for is Ezuri, Claw of Progress because the deck runs a lot of creatures with power 2 or less, afterwords, if I find Ezuri, the next one is most likely going to be Meren of Clan Nel Toth because it is likely that you're getting creatures out, and, inevitably, creatures will die or will be sacced for abilities (be warned: once finding Meren, if your opponents haven't figured out what you are planning, they most likely will now). After finding both Ezuri and Meren, get Mizzix of the Izmagus, he is very important to the plan because not only does he finish off opponents, but the deck runs a surprising amount of instants/sorceries, if there is anyone you want to protect, it's this guy. Now it is your choice if you want to find Kalemne or Daxos, they aren't the best options to tutor for early, though drawing them early isn't horrible either.

Going off

Once you have a at least Mizzix and Ezuri (losing Meren isn't exacly terrible, but having her makes things easy), you need to grab/draw one of the available x spells that makes 1/1 tokens. By now, you probably have 5-10 experience counters already, so tutoring isn't going to be hard with Mizzix on field especially if you have Diabolic Revelation in hand. Once getting these x spells, cast them, but only for their base cost, let Mizzix take care of the x cost, you'll get an experience counter for each 1/1 that comes in, essentially you have gone from perhaps 5 experience counters, to 10, talk about growth. Once you have acquired a ton of experience counters with Mizzix still around, kill everyone with Torment of Hailfire/Exsanguinate.

Warning

The deck can be really slow and easily taken down if someone exiles the right counter commanders, if in the case that this happens, there is an infinite combo side strategy using Reveillark + Saffi Eriksdotter /Karmic Guide + Saffi Eriksdotter or you could just make an bunch of 1/1s and hope for the best.

Archetype of Endurance was removed for Exsanguinate because I needed another Torment of Hailfire effect. I had run a lot more proliferate effects, but I decided that I should play the deck with just the triggers from the Commanders, for creative reasons.

Currently I am looking for: Cheap costing protection that triggers one of the Experience Commanders, Card Draw, Room for 1/2 sac outlets that make the Saffi infinite combo lethal.
