Not really sure where I'm going with this. I like Esper on paper, and currently have an older Esper Gifts list that I play sometimes -- Iona, Shield of Emeria / Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite , Gifts Ungiven and Unburial Rites --, Stoneforge Mystic opens up some interesting ideas.

Black might be unnecessary, but I like my discard spells. I'm not very good at building, or playing, control / instant speed decks. This is going to be a bit rough, and possibly janky.

I have avoided Dark Confidant , Vendilion Clique , and Snapcaster Mage due to the prevalence of Wrenn and Six , and I also don't own those cards already.

Ojutai's Command is more of a 'pet' card, I have always felt like this card could be good in the right place. I feel like it might have some value in reviving a Stoneforge Mystic along with another mode. I was considering Thought Scour as a cantrip, as it has some synergy with Lingering Souls as well, but didn't think there was really enough justification to run it over Serum Visions .

I would consider swapping out Command for Spell Queller , as a tempo play and equip target.

I'm not sure about Stony Silence in the sideboard, obviously it is an anti synergy with the swords, but it doesn't stop Batterskull from making a germ, and I feel like in the matchups where it is good, it is going to be worth the nonbo.
