I've always loved that you can infinitely bounce 3 Oblivion Rings when they target each other in succession. Since the Constellation ability came out, i've been thinking about a combo deck that abuses this fact, but it was always too hard to come up with all the pieces for the combo.
Now with Altar of the Brood and Clever Impersonator available as well as Esper fetch lands, it's much easier to get this combo going!
It's not the fastest combo deck ever, but it's a ton of fun!
To set up the combo, you have to get an Oblivion ring in your hand. Serum Visions and
Telling Time
allow you to dig for a ring and Idyllic Tutor allows you to straight fetch it.
Copy Enchantment and Clever Impersonator allow you to get the three ring combo on line without having to get 3 actual rings in your hand.
You can also use 1x Detention Sphere as part of the combo since it will be exiling an Oblivion Ring and not another Detention Sphere.
Every card in the deck is there simply to achieve the combo, but i'm sure that some can be cut to make room for counter magic like Swan Song and Pact of Negation.
Once i play test this enough to find out what fat can be trimmed, i will start squeezing in some counter magic and building a sideboard.
