Deck Edit (2-card change) —May 9, 2016

-2 Mulch removed for:

+2 Grisly Salvage

After more thought, Clockwurk's advice is sound. Mulch doesn't quite do what I need.

I considered replacing the Mulches with Commune with the Gods, which finds either The Gitrog Monster, Eternal Witness or Seismic Assault, but the chances of missing altogether make Salvage seem like the better choice. As long as it doesn't strain the mana base any farther. =P

You know, I was giving consideration Raven's Crime, and it's good to hear the idea seconded. I thought that it wouldn't be disruptive enough, but I guess I WILL be playing it more than once... Thanks, skoobysnackz for the imput. Another step in the right direction!

You're welcome, I've been playing sultai frog loam for a little while and raven's crime has been really good so far because with gitrog on the battlefield its not only hand disruption, but card draw too. and with Life from the Loam you can just get all your lands back. Here's my version if you want a couple more ideas T(GM)ITI (Budget/OG).

Wouldn't A few crucibles work with this deck? Btw, awesome build. I'm going to play test this one. Wicked nice, OutOfBasics.

@Joker1430Thank you so much! You have no idea how much I appreciate that. I just love brewing decks. =)

Crucible of Worlds has been in my mind for quite some time, both for this deck and others. My reasons for not running it is as follows:

--1: As strange as it is, as I playtested V1 of this deck, Crucible did not add an enormous amount to the functionality and versatility. I came to the conclusion that the deck uses lands in the hand and graveyard far more often than it does on the battlefield.

--2: A lame excuse, but I have no Crucibles! Here's hoping for a reprint in Eternal Masters, eh?

I do need to put the card back on the maybeboard, though. Thanks for reminding me!

Ah, play testing is always great. Not having the physical cards... Not so great. Lol. If we had unlimited pockets we would all be world champions... To some degree. All honesty, great build.

Finnaly, a modern deck with Gitrog! I've thought of his modern potential. Great deck, +1 from me. Mulch gets no lands in your graveyard by the way. Maybe don't run that.

@Joker1430

Yeah, that has been what kept me out of modern. Still, we do what we must! Thanks again for the compliment. =)

@Clockwurk

Thanks a ton for the upvote! I've been back and forth about Mulch, too. I do remember that none of the lands go to the graveyard, however it's sometimes nice to have them in hand for Seismic Assault. Definitely on the chopping block with the knife raised, though. ;)

I'll be sure to update the deck with tournament standings, once I get the time to go play. I'll probably use what fetches/shocks I have, and substitute the rest with Battle Lands and the like.
