Thanks to everyone who's enjoyed this deck over the past year. Starting from humble beginnings as a budget deck with Moldgraf Scavenger and Foreboding Ruins to a powerhouse Primer of sorts with full blown threats and determination to be the best Modern Jund deck ever compiled.

Thank you for all of the comments and upvotes and just overwhelming feedback on this pursuit of Junding Perfection.

cascading into terminate or abrupt decay against creatureless decks seems pretty awful tbh

gateway71 This is true. I've put a 3rd Lightning Bolt and a singleton Dreadbore in for this very reason. Cascading into Liliana of the Veil seems really good though.

I really like the idea of having a full playset of BBE tbh. But I get that the list is tight haha

I was thinking the same. I'm not fully satisfied with the list right now. Still swapping things around. I found a list by Brad Nelson Here. I like the idea of BBE into K-Command. The current list I'm running seems less focused.

Yeah I agree, you'll have to tweak and see what works. BBE into K-Command or Liliana is definitely insane. If I had the cash I'd get into jund the addition of BBE is great, I'm currently on kiki-chord right now though.

This list is subtly different from my own. Once I post my list, ill link it.

But, while i'm here, I am transitioning into jund from Abzan. Not playing Confidant in Abzan, my list currently omits it, but includes Grim Flayer. The trigger on flayer allows you to forsee when you draw the bloodbraid elf, as well as (limited) what you could to cascade into. Currently I run it as a 3 of.

I see that you have this list updated quite regularly, so I inquire your thoughts on Bitterblossom. I see you play Goblin Rablemaster, which has a similar element to it, except that it is a 3 drop, and doesn't create fliers.

I personally like 2 k-Command, and 3 bolt, but think 3 thoughtseize and inquisition is better to more often hit those pesky combo decks (CoCo, TTBreach, storm, tron, etc.).

and i agree with @Bpots6694 that a 4th copy of Blood Braid Elf should be included.

Ignore what i originally said about the 3/3 split of Thoughtseize and Inquisition. Collected Brutality and K-command also force discard, which I forgot about

Ive never considered Bitterblossom only because I dont own any. Though now that you mention it, it could be a valid addition. It also pumps Tarmogoyf as well. I bouht into Bob around the time Grim Flayer was printed and have always preferred Bob in that regard. The card advantage is more guaranteed than it is with flayer. Though flayer does work in the right build. Its not as reliable as Bob though in getting card advantage. Im interested to see what you do with Bitterblossom.

Our Builds are a bit different. I am also contemplating Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip, another 4 drop that I don't want to see with Dark Confidant.

My build also includes Mishra's Bauble and 2 Nihil Spellbombs main to assist in Delirium and for maindeck outs dredge + re-animator shinanigans without leaning on Scavenging ooze in my opening hand

My list is now posted so come check it out if you like: Jund Good?

I feel as though Bob is much worse in a meta where burn or aggro are king. He can definitely grind you out against midrange and control, but Grim Flayer is supposed to counter creature decks. Just as anything in Jund, it's not a question of "is x better than y" but rather a "what combination of cards can make me beat the decks I normally face."

Yeah. Thats the key to a good Jund deck is knowing your meta. Jund is about anticipating the opponents next move and wrecking their every plan. I unfortunately havent been able to make my FNM for a while but I try to keep up on the general meta as a whole.

4x Fatal Push, otherwise +1

Thanks for the input. However, with all of the different removal spells available in Jund (Terminate, Abrupt Decay, Lightning Bolt, Fatal Push, Dreadbore, Maelstrom Pulse) 4 of any one of them doesn't make sense. When you go up against big Mana decks like Tron, Eldrazi, or Scapeshift you need more than Fatal Push.

The only one that's ever been a 4 of in my opinion is Lightning Bolt because it hits anything. But the current meta doesn't even allow that.

Personally, I think 5 / 7 discard (depending on if you count Collective Brutality or not) may be too much. The value of the one mana ones goes down with Bloodbraid Elf. Same with Fatal Push (2 seems ok... I actually play 1 in my meta). I'd maybe move a Collective Brutality to the side and main a Liliana, the Last Hope.

Side-boards are very meta-dependent, so the only thing I'm not completely sold on is the Hazoret the Fervent. But, if it has been useful and works where you play, keep it!

Other than that, it seems pretty solid! If I decide that my take with Bloodbraid Elf and Grim Flayer (Junding Them w/ BBE) is underwhelming, I will probably shift to something like this!

Good luck, +1, and happy Junding!

Thanks for the input lemons452922. I agree with everything you've said. I'm debating dropping Inquisition of Kozilek all together. But T1 discard is still the best thing to do with Jund on T1. (That or dump a Raging Ravine) So, I worry that only having four 1 mana discard spells isn't going to be enough. I think 5 is a minimum to have consistent T1 plays. The information gained T1 is crucial to navigating the deck properly.

I've been looking for some free space to get Liliana, the Last Hope into the MB for far too long. The value of having both Liliana planeswalkers at the same time is huge. I think your suggestion is exactly the space for it.

The more and more I look at the deck list, the more I cringe at a full playset of Dark Confidant. I'm gonna have to try only running 3 as much as I don't want to, I think I have to.

Hazoret the Fervent is still a question mark in my book. I have it there for now for any grindy midrange decks to get the last few points of damage through late game. But, I haven't actually playtested it yet. Lots of people have suggested it as a solid card in Jund prior to the unbanning.

I know that Seth (probably better known as SaffronOlive) suggested Thundermaw Hellkite as a method of shooting down Jace.

One deck that will most likely rise to the top is Blue/White Miracles. That in mind, noncreature winconditions in the form of walker ultimates is a good way for this deck to win through Terminus.

Thanks scrotality! I just made some tweaks this morning after some playtesting. I realized that I wanted a more streamlined threat package. Goblin Rabblemaster has finally hit the bin. (for now) I went back up to 4 Dark Confidant, cut a Forest for a fourth BBE and swapped Hissing Quagmire for Treetop Village. I also adjusted the IoK /Thoughtseize nnumbers from 1/4 to 2/3 in the interest of saving life.

February 21, 2018 3:55 p.m.

I think you definitely want 4 Thoughtseize right now. Tron, Eldrazitron, Ponza, and Jace decks are going to be your hardest matchups, and Thoughtseize is your best card against them.

Thanks ToolmasterOfBrainerd. Ill reconsider a 1/4 split. I was running 1 Inquisition of Kozilek/4 Thoughtseize and found myself going to 15 or less really quickly because of it.
