The life penalty for using them is next to nonexistent really. Usually the mana fixing from them is more than enough of a reason to slot them in, and if somehow their life drain causes you to lose, there most likely was something earlier in the game you did that led to that point anyways.

IMO I'd cut something like Broodmate Dragon, Deathbringer Regent, or Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury for Hunting Grounds so really just cut whatever you think is a weak link.

As for Mystical Tutor I wouldn't really recommend it personally. Its use is very limited in what it gets you in this deck, and it can't be used to fetch something like Teferi's Protection on demand since it only tutors to the top of your library.

Feiryn Yeah after posting about Mystical Tutor, I did have the thought that it wouldn't really be useful in my deck lol. Regarding life penalty, I was thinking similar too, that if I lose due to it, it's probably my own fault xD.

I have looked at Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury a few times to cut, but I think against the decks I've been vs'ing it would likely come in handy (Proliferate is one, get some big boys out).. Might cut Kilnmouth Dragon.

NVM, already cut Kilnmouth Dragon for Force of Vigor lol. I'll probably take out Deathbringer Regent for Hunting Grounds when I receive it.

Feiryn Would I be able to get your opinion about some cards I'm considering purchasing for this deck? I've bought all of the land cards I mentioned earlier... However what are your thoughts about the following considering I'll have all of those fetch lands/shock lands too? Lotus Field, Lotus Vale, Ancient Ziggurat, Dowsing Dagger  ^Flip, Meteor Crater, Unclaimed Territory.

I'm personally not a fan of any of those lands though Lotus Vale, Meteor Crater, and Unclaimed Territory are okay. I'd say by far the most useful is Unclaimed Territory. The main issue with the others is that Lotus Vale only taps for one colour each time, and Meteor Crater requires you already have permanents out (which doesn't include other lands). Dowsing Dagger  ^Flip is pretty decent, if you have room for it I'd try it out at least!

Feiryn I ended not going for the Lotus ones and Meteor Crater. I'm probably going to try out the other two though. Do you have any thoughts on Chromatic Orrery? Was also getting Vedalken Orrery for another deck, but of two minds about including in this deck. I'm guessing it probably isn't worth running in this one.

Chromatic Orrery would be huge if you get it out but if someone blows it up it's a huge waste. If artifact removal isn't common in your group it could work well! As for Vedalken Orrery it's primarily for decks where playing hatebears and sorceries on other players' turns is important for their strategy, so I don't think it'd work too great here sadly.
