Zombo mambo #5

I still have yet to play test this deck, sadly. This deck I feel has a decent mix of gimmick with utility, so let's get into it:

The original idea behind the deck revolved around the Lich card and a Lich theme, but evolved instead into a Zombie Tribal.

Strategy

The goal is to essentially get as much zombies as possible onto the battlefield, but what you do from there is up to you.

Cards like Army of the Damned, Ghoulcaller Gisa, Grave Titan, and Rooftop Storm all allow for some quick and easy zombie placement.

Diregraf Captain, Risen Executioner, Bad Moon, Undead Warchief and Death Baron buff your zombies up to allow for an aggro based zombie assault.

Rooftop Storm paired with cards like Havengul Lich and Gisa and Geralf allow for mana-less zombie spawning from the graveyard. Bonus points if you can duplicate Havengul Lich or Gisa and Geralf with Tempt with Reflections, as no deck of mine is complete without some politics. Double bonus points if you're able to dump half of your own library into your graveyard with Traumatize.

Do you like killing big ole enemies with some small creatures? Cool. Me too. That's why Drunau Corpse Trawler, Death Baron and Raving Dead are in here. Either give any zombie creature or token Deathtouch, or try to half a player's life instantly. If Raving Dead gets killed, regenerate it with Nim Deathmantle or Lim-Dul the Necromancer

If stealing other opponents creatures you have them mill into their graveyards with Mind Grind or Undead Alchemist more your style, Lim-Dul the Necromancer, Rise from the Grave, and Grave Betrayal have got you covered.

With all the discard options available, Oversold Cemetery, Unholy Grotto, Victimize, Dutiful Return, and Dread Return allow for some grave play if the other aforementioned routes aren't available.

Want to up the ante and draw cards for free? Cast Lich and then Ad Nauseam. Lich's ability is only affected if you're dealt damage from an outside source. Using Ad Nauseam actually means you'll be able to mill your library without having to sack your own creatures or take damage. This opens you up to a few pathways, with either casting Rooftop Storm and summoning every creature card in the deck, or milling your way through to win with Laboratory Maniac. But be careful, because if you lose the Lich enchantment, you lose the game. That's why you need to make sure Lich's Mirror is in play so you can keep going.

How To Win

I tried to get multiple pathways to victory with this deck to allow for versatility.

The easiest way to achieve victory is to summon zombies and use the Lich Lord of Unx ability and suck the life out of your opponents.

If you believe one should win without casting their commander, you can full on assault your opponents with buffed up zombie creatures and tokens. Or you could use cards like Traumatize, Mind Grind, and Undead Alchemist to mill your opponents to the ground.

A personal favorite win-con of mine revolves around Doomsday. Use that to set yourself up with Lich and Repay in Kind for an instant win. Make sure you have enough mana to do this as quickly as possible if you don't have the Lich's Mirror backup plan. That's why Dark Ritual and Jet Medallion are included; making this combo go down in one to two turns tops is vital. You could also match Doomsday with cards like Forgotten Creation and Laboratory Maniac if you don't feel like trying to get all of that out in one turn.
