Maybeboard

This 75% EDH deck uses Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim as an engine for removal and lifegain. Flavor-wise, it is a Cleric-tribal deck w/ a soft Kor theme.

The goal of this deck is to amass life through sac-effects like Starlit Sanctum and our clerics like Soul Warden and Soul's Attendant, while also removing our opponents' stuff and stalling for time.

The primary win-condition for this deck is a one-hit combo that uses Shaman en-Kor's activated ability an infinite number of times at instant-speed to trigger Daru Spiritualist's ability. Then, using Transmutation, we swap its power and toughness and either swing for massive damage, or sacrifice it to Starlit Sanctum to instantly body a single opponent.

Tutor cards like Diabolic Revelation and Diabolic Tutor let us search for our combo pieces. Recursion engines like Order of Whiteclay and Mistveil Plains let us recycle those combo pieces back into our deck, hand, or the battlefield to do the combo again.

Heavy hitters like Tree of Perdition and Phyrexian Processor help us maintain a strong board-state, while we use cards like Dictate of Erebos and Rotlung Reanimator to weaponize our sacrifice effects.

Possible Card Replacements:

Replace Pious Evangel   w/ Preacher — Preacher is far too expensive for our budget, but is a strong upgrade to this deck. Its ability to steal creatures is a great way of weaponizing our sacrifice effects, allowing us to sacrifice an opponent's creature instead of one of our own. I recommend making a proxy if your playgroup allows them.

Replace Hanweir Militia Captain   w/ Luminarch Ascension — Luminarch Ascension is another very powerful card, as it can rapidly pump out huge creatures at a very cheap rate; fueling our sacrifice effects and life gain. However, its price is far too high for this deck's budget.

Replace Soul Foundry w/ Anointed Procession — Anointed Procession is a far more consistent choice, but is very expensive for this budget.

Replace Abundant Maw w/ Sanguine Bond — Sanguine Bond is a strong source of weaponizing our lifegain. As its main strength draws from its combo with Exquisite Blood. However, together, the cards will run us an extra $40 in our budget. That being said, this deck could run perfectly fine with only Sanguine Bond, as we already have an abundance of life gain effects, but few ways to weaponize them.

Replace Distended Mindbender w/ Exquisite Blood — Extremely pricey for little gain outside of its infinite combo with Sanguine Bond.

Replace Stuffy Doll w/ Lightning Greaves — Stuffy Doll actually does have some niche use in this deck. It works well as a target to redirect damage away from Shaman en-Kor, can be a decent blocker, and can ping opponents down each turn. However, Lightning Greaves has much more utility in this deck: not only as a support card to protect our creatures, but as a secondary combo piece for our win-condition with Shaman en-Kor, albeit at sorcery-speed. Note: I already own a Stuffy Doll, so that's why its included over Lightning Greaves, even though its market price is higher.
