How has it been so far? Fun?

August 4, 2018 5:07 a.m.

@RobsJourney I honestly don't know yet. I have just been building and tweaking it on tappedout since the moment he was spoiled. The last few cards I need will be shipping out on the 10th after C18 drops and then I'll be playing this deck with my playgroup on Friday, 8/17. I am extremely excited to be playing Jund again, it's definitely my favorite shard! I will add an update after I play the deck a few times with more info. Thanks for checking out my deck and don't forget to +1 if you like it! :)

Cheers, will certainly give a +1.

If you wanna test, you can open other decks in separate tabs and use the Playtest function. Just pretend you're having a 3 or 4 player match and pit the decks against each other.

Be keen to see how this one goes :)

Natural Affinity + massacre wurm = blows up all opponents lands and deals them 2x damage for # of lands they had

August 18, 2018 5:28 p.m.

shadowmage, that is probably my all time favorite combo. It's a bit harder to pull off in this deck due to lack of tutors but I've won several games with that combo in a different deck. It will either kill them or they'll concede once I wipe their lands. I am considering Nature's Revolt for the combo but I know it will make some enemies.

Very nice deck! +1. Maybe Primal Vigor and Phyrexian Arena could be really good here.

August 21, 2018 9:19 p.m.

savagetrooper thanks for the +1! I had Primal Vigor in the original list and then I realized it was going to be the death of me. In my meta there is a Freyalise token deck, Derevi token deck, Simic counters deck, yahenni counters deck, 5 color clue token deck, and I'm sure there are a few I'm missing. Giving any of these decks more tokens or counters is a very bad idea, lol. As for Phyrexian Arena its a great card and fits in every deck with black in it, I may put it in but currently not sure what to remove. I'm goingto be testing the deck again soon so keep checking back for changes and updates!

Oh ok that makes sense. One card I recommend that for sure should be in is Warstorm Surge. This with your commander getting bigger and bigger plus the reanimation of creatures is deadly

August 22, 2018 12:08 a.m.

savagetrooper that was in the original version amd ended up getting cut. Great recommendation! After a second glance that card definitely needs a spot. I removed Meteor Golem for it. I'm still trying to fit in Duplicant because not being able to exile a creature cost me the game last Friday. What would you remove for it?

August 22, 2018 12:34 a.m.

savagetrooper says... #10

Honestly, I would take out Ignition Team. This card doesn't fill the graveyard, doesn't mana ramp, and doesn't have trample, so a little 1/1 can block it. I feel Duplicant fits here way more to exile a creature.

Where is Squee, Goblin Nabob? I like to play it with looting, Survival and many more Cards in your deck.

September 14, 2018 8:25 a.m.

@Kater77, million dollar question, what do I replace with Squee, Goblin Nabob?

Hey man how has this deck been going for you?

Work well and/or fun?

January 30, 2019 8:43 p.m.

@RobsJourney The decks is super fun to play and it is actually really good... like way better than I thought it was going to be. The reason being is that it's very toolbox-y so I can search up an answer for pretty much anything usually at instant speed. The best cards for doing so are Entomb and Survival of the Fittest . This deck is decent in 1v1 but it shines in multiplayer. Its best against 2 opponents but is still good against more. I have played the deck in a tournament and it held it's own, I made some key adjustments after the tourney so I can stop infinite graveyard loops and prevent damage from an infinite token army, now the deck is ready for (almost) anything. Thanks for looking at the deck!

Hi! I've been interested in building a jund reanimator deck and Gyrus seems to fit better than the other options [although Vaevictis was interesting], even if the exiling is a pain. I've played Meren before and she's great, but I feel like I'd like to try something a bit different, so, since you seem well-informed about the deck, I was hoping you could answer a few of my questions?

Are Doubling Season and Parallel Lives really important? I don't own either, although I could maybe try and trade for a Parallel Lives, if it's needed. Doubling Season is probably too expensive, sadly.

I was also thinking about including additional recursion, such as Meren and others, for redundancy...and because I have the guts of a Meren deck, aha. Any thoughts on this?

June 25, 2019 4:30 p.m.

Hi sonmew glad you like the deck! Gyrus is super fun to play but he definitely has a high learning curve because of his complex ability. I've made a lot of play mistakes while learning to play the deck properly. Most common mistake is forgetting the exile trigger at the end of combat for the token copies. Anyway, Doubling Season and Parallel Lives are both great cards that I mainly use to double the tokens Gyrus creates but they aren't required. I would say definitely get your hands on a copy of Parallel Lives if you can but don't worry to much about Doubling Season . If you can afford one Primal Vigor is a great substitute but it has a drawback of being a global effect which is good and bad. Good because it helps other players and can be used politically and is much less likely to be destroyed or put a target on your back. Bad because your opponents may get more of an advantage than you do and overwhelm you with tokens or counters. I think adding Meren of Clan Nel Toth is a stellar idea! She is a powerhouse, if you add her you should also toss in a few more sac outlets or creatures that sac themselves so you have a way to build up experience counters. You can check out my Meren deck below. Let me know if you have any more questions, I'm always happy to answer.

Thanks for getting back to me! Your Meren deck looks pretty strong. Cavalier of Night from the new set should be a nice addition.

I actually acquired the pieces to put Meren together earlier in the year, but I now feel like I'd prefer to use a less popular commander and figuring out Gyrus is quite interesting. The exile means the deck can't just spam the same stuff over and over, which is also appealing, even if it makes it a bit harder to win.

I'm sorting out what I have for trade and then I'll figure out which cards are the most helpful for the deck. As well as the token doublers, Sneak Attack looks like a really strong inclusion.

June 27, 2019 5:04 p.m.

@sonmew, Sneak Attack is such an amazing card and having it in a reanimator shell is just awesome. You get double ETB's for ! I hear you on running less popular commanders, I love my Meren deck but I don't play it very much anymore because it's not as fun for my opponents to play against because they know what to expect for the most part. Always a group sigh when Spore Frog comes out. I like to build obscure commander decks and I almost always have a reanimator sub theme at the least. Drop me a link to your deck once you get it into Tappedout and I'll drop you some suggestions.

Awesome looking deck!

I’m aiming for a 75% Reanimator deck in G/B/x colors and wasn’t originally thinking Sidisi, Brood Tyrant ... I might have to change to this guy!

July 15, 2019 12:52 p.m.

Since you have so many ETB creatures Ilharg, the Raze-Boar may be quite effective in the deck. Also if you find yourself in an artifact heavy meta Shenanigans might possibly be a good card for the deck. Great deck though! +1

The boar won’t work because attack triggers can’t activate after attacking has begun

How do you negotiate having so few ramp cards? I mean, don't you just get outpaced and locked down by more control'y decks? Especially while running so few lands? Or am I missing something?

November 17, 2019 10:09 p.m.

Hi hellspawned inaddition to 33 lands and 6 cards I put into the "Ramp" category there are other cards that help me hit my land drops. Cards such as Life from the Loam , Satyr Wayfinder , and World Shaper have a dual purpose because they put cards into my GY and get me lands. Combine cards like this with cards like Faithless Looting and other card draw and the fact this is a GY based deck so the dredging is almost as good as card draw. The deck also has a low curve, many of the higher cost cards are being reanimated instead of cast so once I hit 3 mana the deck just starts doing its thing. Click the playtest button and give it a few tries and see what you think.

Honesty not sure if this is a good add (very hit or miss) but I think that knowing of its existence is nice... Mindclaw Shaman.

I guess if you are holding Dualcaster Mage for someone else's spells then that's fine but if not maybe you would play Wort, the Raidmother because she could be better (and makes tokens!).

In creature heavy match ups both Molten Primordial and Sepulchral Primordial are fun.

Hoarding Dragon is an excellent tutor for an artifact like Sundial of the Infinite as long as he isn't exiled.

Lastly, Izoni, Thousand-Eyed will generate a ton of tokens (you have 40+ creatures in your deck) and can be a ok sac outlet.

Hope you found these suggestions insightful! +1
