Disclaimers:
First of all, specific card suggestions here don't always take budget into account, just because I don't know what kind of budget you are looking for.
Also, I don't know what your goal is with this deck, and because the list as given is a little bit generic(within the general "chaos" archetype, that is), I can't really know what direction you want to take with it. My suggestions are what I would do with the deck, but don't treat this as what you DEFINITELY should do.
And Finally, these suggestions are not just saying "You might want to add these cards". These should help you see what parts of the deck need improvement.
Feedback:
Perplexing Chimera
is a staple that should be in every chaos deck
You probably need a way to take advantage of the chaos, something like
Gruul Charm
, or a way of making a lot of useless permanents to stack the odds of turning out on top in your favor.
Needs more repeatable/high impact card draw. Currently has a lot of cards that give small, one-shot draws like
Divination
, so some of these should probably be cut in favor of higher impact draw spells, like
Wheel of Fortune
(that one is probably way too expensive, real money wise, but that kind of effect is what you want) or repeatable card advantage engines, like
Maelstrom Nexus
, or a
Phyrexian Arena
type effect? probably not specifically Phyrexian Arena, but something similar that works well with the chaos theme probably exists.
Oath of Druids
being in this deck is really throwing me off. I think because of what I know about competitive magic I have trouble seeing that card in any context other than putting a
Griselbrand
or
Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
into play on turn 2. If you think it works well in the deck, then keep it, but I don't think it will be very good.
Needs a few more ways to clear the board, I recommend red, damage based sweepers like
Star of Extinction
and
Blasphemous Act
, and
Stuffy Doll
like cards to work with them, considering the deck is mostly red already.
Get a copy of
Chromatic Lantern
. It is a must have in 5-color commander decks. Similarly, there are a bunch of other mana rocks that can produce any color of mana that are usually better than cluestones. (eg.
Darksteel Ingot
)
Attune with Aether
is not a good card. The only reason to play it is if you need to fuel Energy cards. If you really feel like you need that effect, find a
Traverse the Ulvenwald
Another suggestion for a chaos card (as long as you don't mind the headache of learning how the card works AND explaining it to everyone else) is
Knowledge Pool
It truly fucks with the game in ways beyond imagination. Other suggestions include
Teferi's Puzzle Box
,
Puca's Mischief
Possibility Storm
, and
Eye of the Storm
If you do end up running
Knowledge Pool
or
Possibility Storm
, you could be a real asshole by also playing something like
Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir
or a
Rule of Law
effect to completely prevent anyone from playing spells ever. (please don't actually do this)
