Now that Syrix, Carrier of the Flame has been announced and soon to be release, I and many others are thrilled to have a Phoenix Commander. Being {B}{R} is an interesting but flavorful choice with reanimator cards being at our disposal. This is a rough start to what my Syrix deck will look like. Sac outlets, reanimators cheats and value engines for when cards leave the graveyard. Any input/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Some small combos:

Aurora Phoenix + Throes of Chaos for some minor Cascade fun.

Glistening Oil is absolutely disgusting in this deck.

Maskwood Nexus + Patriarch's Bidding.

Syrix, Carrier of the Flame + Moonglove Changeling or Basilisk Collar - anytime Syrix's effect goes off and you choose Moonglove, you can give deathtouch to kill the creature. Same is true with equipping Basilisk Collar to any phoenix.
