Greven, Predator Captain

"i will flay the skin from your flesh and the flesh from your bones and scrape your bones dry. And still you will not have suffered enough", Greven il-Vec, to Gerrard

This is a aggressive combat tricks version of Greven, Predator Captain, I built this deck to punish the late game decks that take a bit to get set up, also to play around with a non-traditional voltron strategy.

Win Conditions

The plan is simple, commander damage or infect your opponents one by one out of the game while greven has lifelink and unblockable preferably. but we will need a few backup or alternative win conditions to ensure victory.

• First, with Greven, Predator Captain on board, lose 4 life by one of many methods, Tainted Strike on Greven, and follow up with a Chandra's Ignition to win or Soul's Fire to take a player out.

High Value Sacrifices

Power Draw: 3 cmc or lower with high power/ low toughness

• Ball Lightning

• Lightning Skelemental

• Hellspark Elemental

• Immolating Souleater- Also a life sink

Death Utility

• Anger- Draw 2, Lose 2 life, pump greven by 2, and you have haste from now as long as you control a mountain.

• Vindictive Lich- Draw 4, Lose 1 life, pump greven by 1, with multiple death triggers.

• Solemn Simulacrum- Draw 3, Lose 2, pump greven by 2, get a land into play tapped.

Life Loss

These cards allow you too make greven what ever power you need (21) to take a player out, with a bonus for most of them.

• Immolating Souleater- Plus Power Draw

• Doom Whisperer - Plus Card Selection

Spells/ Enchantments:

• Necropotence- Plus Card Draw

• Hatred- Plus Combat Trick/ Power Draw(if you power up your sacrificed creature instead of greven)

Life Gain

We need Life to play with, since we pay alot of life for value in one form or another.

In conclusion, this is a non-traditional voltron strategy that hits hard, Greven, Predator Captain both takes out players and refills our hand. He is a powerful commander that I have enjoyed playing.

Remember, "Death before, Dishonour" you can kill your self 9 times out of 10 at instant speed if your losing the game with no way to win.
