the best part: you can still win

This is nowhere close to a cEDH Zur, but it's pretty mean regardless. It's kind of hard to build him any other way. This deck plays more pillow fort-y and defensive for the beginning of the game, responding with counters if something affects you personally. You should spend your first few turns putting out things to protect Zur, e.g. Teferi's Veil (almost always my first search of the game), Ghostly Prison / Propaganda , Diplomatic Immunity . Alternatively, grab Luminarch Ascension if your opponents are light on removal to begin recruiting an army of angels.

Once you have a soft lock on the board, cast Armageddon , find Voltron stuff, and swing for the win.

HOWEVER this is not a Voltron Zur deck. We have some real stupid stuff to play.

combos:

Phyrexian Unlife + Solemnity = You cannot die via life loss

Energy Field + Rest in Peace = You cannot die via life loss

Opalescence + Parallax Wave = Exile all other creatures, continuously, until someone destroys Parallax Wave

Enchanted Evening + Cleansing Meditation = Steal everything on the board

Decree of Silence + Solemnity = Your opponents cannot play spells

Try casting Necromancy at instant speed, or copying someone's Emrakul, the Promised End with Dance of Many .

Thinking about trying to alter this into a more creature / ETB focused deck, so I'm all ears re: suggestions.
