Commander VS: Sidar Kondo and Tana vs Tuvasa vs O-Kagachi vs Athreos

It has had few upgrades with Modern Horizons, but the core of the deck is the same.

I wanted to add a Voltron-style deck to my play list as I do not typically play that style. Went with an enchantress theme because I like drawing cards.

The deck started off as pillow fort and Voltron deck that relied less on aura's and more on generic enchantments to buff Tuvasa. It has morphed slightly to include more aura's and have much more aggressive mana curve but still retains some of the pillow fort elements. Almost all the Aura's are 3 CMC or less and the average CMC of the deck clocks in at 2.56.

With this very low CMC in mind, I only included 34 lands and only 9 ramp spells in this deck. Because the CMC is so low in this deck, all the ramp is 2 CMC or less. Additionally, the ramp selected for this deck also includes the built in ability to color fix. With spells like Farseek and Nature's Lore, you can go get just about any Shock Land you need at the time. Fertile Ground and Utopia Sprawl both help ramp and fix mana color. The goal is to get to 3 mana that can produce Bant colors as soon as possible. Once you get there, the deck starts to really take off.

Now that you have the mana you need, it is time to assemble a Voltron killing machine with layers of defense to keep your opponents at bay. There a 5 basic Pillow Fort effects in the deck such Ghostly Prison and Propaganda. These make it hard for your opponents to attack you as you get your win condition online.

Once Tuvasa is on the field, you have to start buffing her into one hit killer, protecting her from removal, and giving her evasion to sneak past the enemy lines. The best enchantments in the deck fulfill more than one of these roles at a time. The very best do all three such as Shield of the Oversoul. While Tuvasa is the main star and worth protecting, do not put all your eggs in one basket. Buff and protect other members of your team so that a well timed Swords to Plowshares doesn't take out your Commander and 3 or 4 auras with her.

The best part of all this, is that as you assemble your killing machine, you are drawing cards. At first it maybe just Tuvasa drawing you a card with the first enchantment you cast on your turn, but it quickly snowballs into multiple enchantress effects to help you dig through the deck. In total there are 11 Card Draw effects in this deck and the fact that they are permanents that are repeatable are what really makes this deck sing.

The deck includes about 14 Answers in the form of Targeted Removal and a couple of Board Wipes. Just remember to use them wisely. There are couple of counterspells included in the deck. These act as an answer to any card on the stack but also as protection for your board. Cards like Negate, Stubborn Denial, and Swan Song are in the deck to protect your board state from things like a board wipe or dreaded mass exile of Merciless Eviction.

Should you lose a bunch of your enchantments, there is some graveyard recursion included. One of the best is Hanna, Ship's Navigator as it is a repeatable effect. Replenish and the ultimate on Estrid, the Masked can absolutely close out a game for you.

Lastly, I have included 4 of the 6 Gods that could go into this deck. Some of them synergize with the deck better than others. The reason I included them, is that it is fairly easy to get them active as creatures with all the enchantments that stick around on the board. As an indestructible creatures, they make good blockers and threats when needed.
