. We have
Trapmaker's Snare
as copies 4-8 of Archive Trap in addition to
Mission Briefing
, which allows us to cast archive trap from our graveyard, and because of the wording we get to cast it for free, unlike
Snapcaster Mage
.
The beauty of Scheming Symmetry in this build is that we are almost guarenteed to deny our opponent their tutored card because we are also running a basic mill package. Only cast symmetry turn 1 if you have an archive trap in hand.

out? Cast symmetry first, then play a land.
Even at 3 mana we can cast symmetry and then
Glimpse the Unthinkable
.
Ghost Quarter
is not a forced search, but if it's early enough in the game, we can scheming symmetry, then ghost quarter a land, then our opponent had the rough choice of eating a strip mine or losing their tutored card.
With symmetry, we can get away with running only a single copy of
Damnation
rather than two, which many mill decks run, because we can tutor for it when we need it and likely keep it from clogging up our hand game 1 when we dont.
Unfortunately, we have to stray away from running one of the best mill cards in the format:
Mesmeric Orb
. It's going to mill over the card that we have tutored from Symmetry, and playtesting has shown that more often than not, we actually want the card we search for, even if it's only a land.
