Maybeboard

To our fellow Izzet lovers,

This was it, an introduction back into magic. I was looking for a card game back in 2013, collected a bunch of old mtg cards up through 2017, and saved enough to want to buy all of the C18 commanders. Out of them, I kept Saheeli, the Gifted, Lord Windgrace, and Estrid, the Masked. I gave Aminatou, the Fateshifter to a friend as an introduction into commander and to play more around our city. Almost 10 plus years later, still playing and collecting, this deck will always hold something special to me.

To describe the deck:
I've made a few alterations from Saheeli, the Gifted, and decided to throw Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain as the commander now. Doing so allows for a stronger draw engine and really increase the decks power level as a whole. People fear Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain as a commander with how competitive she can get, because any sorts of fast mana can really bust her open to some crazy combo-lines. We didn't go that route with this deck, and put a lid on endless loops/infinites. Being in Izzet however, we get some of the best colors to draw, pseudo-ramp, and create quick board presence. As a deck builder, I tried to take the power level down to around a mid-6 that can hang with low-8's. If this deck runs right, the pilot needs to: politic well, assemble a mini board, hold counter spells, and ideally go for damage on the last player. If these things fail, I have some key cards and alt win conditions listed below.

Key Cards:
1. Karn, the Great Creator or any of the planeswalkers.
2. Academy Ruins (Recursion)
3. Discontinuity (Last Resort Counter)
4. Altar of the Brood (Opponent Pain Mill)
5. Darksteel Forge (Indestructible)
6. Embercleave or Loxodon Warhammer (Utility Equipment)
7. Darksteel Colossus (Anti Mill)
8. Jhoira's Familiar, Herald of Kozilek, Enthusiastic Mechanaut (Mana-Dorks)
9. Shimmer Myr (Flash for 50% of Deck)
10. Memnarch, Dack Fayden, Role Reversal (Steal)

Win Cons:
1. Creature DMG
2. Urza, Lord High Artificer
3. Hellkite Tyrant or Mirrodin Besieged

TLDR; The deck is heavy good-stuff artifact, counters, stompy-ness-good-ness, and the alt wins. It could always get more competitive with Izzet, but this deck sits in a happy range of hanging with high-power and stomping midrange/below.

Power Level: Min Low-6 | Max: Mid-7

Appreciate the feedback, advice, comments, and ideas where the deck could go!
